ASUS P5B Deluxe MOBO with updated soundmax drivers (XP)
Yami 663 Receiver

If i use direct channel connection (6 rca cables) The sound is perfect...
If i use 1 optical cable, im pretty much missing the center channel (but u can kinda hear sometimes its just horribly soft)

I have a mp3 that tests every channel, its that crazy bitrate multi channel type and yes i'm missing the dang channel there so its frustrating and of course with movies nothings there besides a whisper

I've tried messing with everything in soundmax..should i just leave soundmax out of it and not have it autoturn on? If so, its just at 2 speakers..

right now i just leave it set to DTS, cinema/music its both the same

Oh my receiver is showing the DTS 5.1 channel lights when i do play music...

is it just the built in cards, are utter crap?
if i i have to i'll just use the 6channel direct but would rather use optical

Are you sure your central channel in the receiver is not set as you dont have a central loudspeaker? like "phantom" on my yamaha?
Just to be sure...
