I apologize if this problem has been posted before. I tried searching through this thread and through the forum and most of the results seem to be regarding a different problem.

My 52a750 was purchased around August 2008. About 2 weeks ago the TV turned off by itself. Since then I have not been able to turn the TV back on. The red lcd power indicator light at the bottom right corner of the screen is off as well.

I've tried unplugging the TV, waiting 10-15 minutes, replugging it back; tried plugging directly into the power outlet on the wall; even tried a different power cord - nothing seems to work.

Looking for any advice or help possible. Thank you!

Sorry I can't be of any help - but I would be looking at the "cap" problem that has plagued some Samsung owners.

Thanks for the reply!

But I've read through threads regarding the capacitor problem. Those cases all seem to exhibit different symptoms than my tv. With the capacitor problem it seems the tv cycles on/off and/or has the clicking sound.

My tv just shut off by itself one day and has not been able to turn back on at all. The rec lcd power light near bottom right of the screen is no longer on as well.

Of course this happens after the warranty expired.. sucks.

They seem to emanate from graphics at the bottom of the screen, football down markers, etc.

This is a very serious PQ problem, the thing is virtually unwatchable. The nearest service center is 20 miles away.

I searched the forum to no avail. Any ideas? (I have done a reset to original factory settings -- it made the problem worse)

Same problem with mine. The vertical lines move as bright sources move.
Three of the bad 10v capacitors causing on/off situation were replaced 9 months ago. Shouldn't the service tech have replaced the other two which hadn't (yet) gone bad?

quick questions. Looking for a simple 5.1 receiver that will support the HDMI-CEC implemented in the my Samsung TV. I have a Samsung DVD home theater now, hooked up to that is a Samsung blue ray player.. I want to do away with the DVD theater, put it down stairs and put in a nice receiver to run my other audio components to. Any recommendations?

I now realize that the problem with my TV (LN52A750 bought in Aug 2008) is worse than I had thought. None of the HDMI inputs are working, nor is the VGA input. I have yet to try the S-Video. I seriously think it's failed as well. I tried upgrading firmware to 1012 version, but no help.
Anyone has any thoughts on what could be wrong, and if this could be fixed at all?
Thanks in advance

My LN46A750 finally "capped out" after 26 months. Purchased from Amazon on 06/23/2008, died 08/20/2010. No extended warranty. I created a repair ticket and called Samsung Friday night. The CSR told me Samsung would pay for the repair as an out-of-warranty "Courtesy Repair". I was contacted by the local repair tech Monday and a power supply board with upgraded capacitors was installed Tuesday. Although I am dissapointed that such a phenominal television had this weak link, I am a satisfied Samsung customer. Looks like Samsung is finally stepping up and taking ownership of this problem ... or maybe I just got lucky.

I love my Samsung unit. I developed a new problem. I have a blinking light and the manual indicates it is a blown fan. The other problem is "i Not Available" blinking on my screen. Any thoughts on this?

Can someone post Samsung phone # or PM it to me ? I have a picture issue and maybe a issue with the unit turning off on it's own and re-starting ( wife saw this happen) .

Right now I have about 1/2 screen that is messed up when i turn on the tv...after awhile it gets better and clears totally up. Anyone know whats the cause might be ? Power supply ? Maybe i can get Samsung to warrenty it ?

thx guys

I just started to get the clicking problem today at start-up. It is cycling about 5-6 times before turning on. I will be calling Samsung tomorrow to see if they will fix it for free as some have done already. The set was purchased June 30, 2008.

update: I called Samsung this AM. Customer service told me they will do a one time fix of the capacitors free of charge. A local technician called 30 minutes later to schedule an appt. next week Thursday. They instructed me there will be no charge if it is the caps issue. I will have to pay for a service call and diagnostic fee if it is not the problem. I am confident it is though from all I have read about the issue. More as it comes in......

Never did get a response with my written letter to Samsung support...not surprised.

Current state of my TV. Upon turning on (cold) always requires the following corrective measure. I hold one corner of the panel and twist with the other corner. Picture will flicker and after a few twists back and forth picture will align and fortunately stay without further "twisting" required.

My speculation at this point is that the motherboard lcd ribbon is not "seated" properly to the flat panel?

What I need is a schematic of "how" a Samsung lcd TV is connected so I can narrow down which connector is sketchy, does anyone know where I can get info like this (obviously googled it but couldn't get any hits)?

Sounds like the main board is bad...about a $175 part....easy to swap out.

Had this issue...they replaced the entire panel after trying the main board first.

My TV stopped working the day after I called Samsung. It would get stuck cycling on and off when the power was turned on. I had to unplug it to turn it off. The service tech came to the house last Thursday as scheduled, took apart the TV, exposed the power supply board and took a picture of it. He then put it back together and said they have to verify the problem is the capacitors on the power supply board in order for Samsung to send them a replacement board. Seemed back asswards to me. He left. They came again yesterday, a week later, with the replacement board and was done in 15 minutes. All is good again. No charge to me! Thank you Samsung for standing by your product.

Finally got around to taking my TV apart and doing some troubleshooting. Turns out the TFT-LCD is foobar. One corner of the panel is weak or not "connecting" ever so slightly. Symptoms are when you press on the TFT (in the bad corner spot) it will momentarily flicker and start to work. Pressing on it again will usually make it fail. There is really nothing to be done to correct this as the TFT is one large sheet like panel with nothing that I can see that would remedy the weak spot.

The TFT-LCD is > $1000 used replacement. Not worth replacing.

So I'm left with a TV that kinda works when twisted and prodded. That sums up my 1 year 4 month old Samsung TV.

When I ultimately replace, I will not purchase another Samsung, in my experience the quality and service are just not there YMMV.

However, having gone through this experience hasn't left me bitter, I learned a lot by disassembling this TV right down to the TFT and re-assembling it.; it was interesting and challenging.

Does anyone know if the bezels (front and back cover), PCB, and the majority of boards on the LN46a750 and LN46a650 are interchangeable?
hello, I have a model LN46A750R1FXZA Version SQ01 now I've already replaced the bad capacitors myself which was actually really simply. The only problem I seem to have with my LCD TV is that when ever I turn it on it has a blurring effect or double effect and after about 10 to15 mins it goes away and the picture become clear. I can speed the process up sometime by lightly tapping on the side of the right side of the TV. So any ideas, Mainboard, power supply board, tk board, Ld board, or just junk it and go with a cheaper version LCD b/c SAMSUNG truly sucks and I'm out of a warranty.

Hey all, having trouble with the analog audio RCA inputs for HDMI2. No sound. I've verified that the source is sending sound by hooking it up to another device. I've verified that the TV sound is working by checking another input. I have the name of HDMI2 set to "PC". Is there something I'm missing?
Hey Shark!

I have successfully run DVI to HDMI2 and audio through the RCA jacks in the past, though I am not set up to do it right now. I don't recall having any troubles.

Are you sending video to HDMI2 via a DVI to HDMI cable?

Only thing I can think of is that if you use an HDMI-HDMI cable, the TV may expect audio over the HDMI port and ignore the RCA jacks? Don't know, never tried.

Hi Guys,

Question for you on my a750 on the right side it looks like the front part of the frame is coming off I've read that you can fix that with some sort of tape? I'm not sure what sort of tape it is but I was hoping someone here could help. I checked the screw and it is indeed screwed in. It is some sort of adhesive cause if I hold it in place it slowly release's it over time.

thanks for your time.

Problem: I keep getting No Signal on my display. I have a Moxi dvr -to- Onkyo 605 -to- A750. Every once in a while when changing channels it says searching for signal then goes to no signal. Sometimes I can get the picture back by changing channels but I usually have to turn the Onkyo off then back on and that fixes the problem. I know the DRV is sending to the Onkyo because I still get sound.

Any ideas?
I've gotten that a few times as well with my HTPC but only when playing certain movies and I think the problem boiled down to frame rate. I told XBMC to force playback at display's default rate and the problem went away. I think it was playing movies at 23.998 fps...
TV won't turn on, believe it's the capacitor issue.

Can't remove the back cover though. Removed all the screws, but the bottom right seems stuck on. Any tips? Should it have to be forcibly removed?
