Hi Guys,

I've had my 750 now for about a month, and loving it. But there's one problem I can't seem to get a straight answer from Samsung on, it seems so much like a firmware bug, but I can't even get someone to test it. Anyhow, I'm sure someone here can confirm or deny my finding in less than five minutes. I probably should have come here first!

Here's the deal.

Take any conforming USB mass storage device, put some pictures, music, videos, whatever you like that you might expect to play on the TV onto the device.

Plug the device into the TV, start WiseLink pro, and select the device you've just plugged in.

Do a sanity check to see that all the media that the TV should display, the TV does display.

Remove the USB device. Put it into your computer, camera, etc. And add, or delete some content.

Then put the device back into the TV and see if the new content shows up, or if the deleted content goes away.

For me the first time I put a device with a particular name into the TV, it will take a while and scan the device then create thumbnails for all the content. Then if I change the content, and re-plug in the device the cache doesn't update, and I can't access the new content, and the deleted files still have their thumbnails showing up.

Is it just my set?

Thanks!!!

Has anyone tried this with the 750? I'll be trying it later tonight. Thought y'all might be interested too.

I am just about to order the LN52A750 from Amazon, and I am totally psyched! But I can't figure out what cables come with it, and what I might need to buy up front. Any help from those who already own one?

I'm using an old CRT now, so I'm starting from scratch. I plan to connect an HD Tivo right away, and later to add a Blue Ray player.

I have always had the audio routed through my stereo speakers, but I've heard the built in sound is quite good, so might try to use the built-ins at first to see if it is acceptable.

The price at Amazon has dropped another $30 since yesterday.

Thanks for your help!

Not sure if this is the best place or not, but since it regards to this TV. . .

Do people think it is worth getting professionally calibrated if the TV is in a relatively light room (at least during the day). The receiver is good, but the speakers are old and in need of new ones, but that will come down the road. Also don't have a bluray player.

I'm thinking I should wait until I at least get a bluray player and/or new speakers. But does would I benefit if I get it now on the TV?

On another note, I got a wireless bridge yesterday and played around with the DNLA very minimally. I got TVersity working with the TV, though I hated the interface so I quickly uninstalled it.

And yet another note, the TV is HDMI-CEC compliant, but only with other Samsung products, correct? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of HDMI-CEC? Is there a plan through Samsung to allow it to work with other brands (the same question would go to Denon for my receiver).

Hey all. What is your opinion on this:

http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/produ...ustomerRatings

as a solution for networking the TV? I can't run a cable directly to my TV, but I could definitely get one of these and set it up this way, if it's worth it.

Power comes with it and that is all.

I was in your boat. Had a CRT without HDMI and had/have a TivoHD too.

Either way get at least one HDMI cable to go from the Tivo to the TV. Check out bluejeancables.com or monoprice.com. I've used both and both worth fine.

Do you have a receiver that accepts HDMI? If you end up using your receiver's audio, you'll need a Toslink (optical) cable to get audio out from the TV to the stereo.

I got a few of those for my sister a few years back. Her house is pretty spread out and wireless didn't work too well. Word of caution, her house is a bit old, at least the wiring, so the 'line' wasn't completely clean and had some interferiance.

For my place I got a wireless bridge for about the same price as what you showed. It was more bridge than I needed right now, but got it anyway. It was the D-Link Dap1522.

"Wiselink PRO Explanation:
Wiselink PRO is the TV's ability to play media stored on a USB flash drive. To use this feature, simply place the drive in the Wiselink USB port located on the side connections panel and then navigate the appropriate menus.

All of the same file types from DLNA are supported over Wiselink PRO.

USB harddrives such as an external hdd or an iPod are not supported. Attach these at your own risk as owners of other models of Samsung TVs have reported that trying to access files on these resulted in bricking the TV.

***Note: The NTFS formatting system is not supported. The drive must be formatted in FAT32.***

This last part is important often many firmware updates in this process on any device can have issues if it fails to match these spec's".

I've bought a bunch of cables and such from bluejeanscables and they've worked great. You will need at least one HDMI cable. I had a similar setup to what you are describing and obivously needed two cables.

I've since upgraded my AV receiver to an HDMI capable receiver (live.com had a 35% off coupon for ebay) and now have one cable going to the TV and a couple small cables hooking my BDDVD and TiVoHD to the receiver.

So you will need to start with one cable, and probably need at least one/two more depending on your future setup.

Anyone use the Monster M1000 Series HDMI on this TV? I have two of them, one for the Comcast Cable Box and one for my BDP-S350(when it comes in). I'll be using optical's for both into my older Onkyo receiver until I buy the Onkyo SR805 this December.

I will be connecting an Xbox 360, PS3, and a DirecTV HD-DVR via HDMI cables. My audio currently runs through a 2 year old Yamaha 550x5 receiver, which does NOT have HDMI inputs, through optical outputs from the Xbox and DirecTV receiver.

Is it going to cause a problem to run my video straight to the A750 while running audio directly to the receiver? Or would you recommend buying a new audio receiver with HDMI inputs? My current receiver does have audio delay capabilities, by the way. All things being equal, I would like to hold off on buying a new receiver if possible, but if everything will be smoother with a new receiver I will go that route.

Thanks for your suggestions.

You shouldn't have any problems, especially since your receiver has delay capabilities. My setup is the same as yours except with no delay feature, and my only issue has been some display lag when not in game mode. I also hooked up a toslink from the TV to my receiver, so I switch to that when the lag bothers me too much.

I'd order a couple HDMI cables from monoprice or bluejeanscable (might as well get your second one now to save on shipping).

Depending on what kind of dvd player you're using now, you might want component cables also, but I've used regular A/V cables as ghetto component cables and they seem to be okay...

Not sure what version of HDMI those are, but regardless, they should work. However, if you buy any new ones in the future, save yourself some money and get your cables from Blue Jeans or Monoprice. My personal suggestion for anyone buying cables right now are the Monoprice 24awg 1.3a certified category 2 cables. I like the ones that are silver plated, but the the less expensive ones are fine. Many people use the 28awg for short runs (under 6 ft.) and have been happy with them, but I just prefer a better quality cable, and they don't cost much more than the 28awg.

Here's a review of the tv, as well as discussing some points everyone might be intrested in. There's some commercials at first then the review starts.

trying to find where the hell to look for the wireless bridge so I can get the weather and news on the tv, trying to find somewhere online to buy this with no luck, even no luck on the samsung site.

If you guys want a physical store, Circuit City has a very good price on the 46" plus a coupon code on their website. Just went to the store and got them to price match their own website. Can't wait till it's delivered!

Anyone can tell me how this TV fairs against LN-T4681F.
I currently have the 81F but moving in 2 days to another country, thus i'll have to buy a new TV.
Now my curiousity is if this tv is better when compared to the 81F and in which way is it better (aside from the multimedia features).
Some feed back would be appreciated.

Any wireless bridge or the linkstick from samsung?

Here is a link to the linkstick. . . If you bought your TV in the appororiate time frame, you can probably get it:

http://product.samsung.com/savings/

There are a good number of bridges if you just want one of those. Not that it is necessary to match your router, but it usually reduces one potential hassle if it is the same.

I've had a good experience with mycablemart.com Depending on how long the run is you might want to look for larger gauge cables.

If you think about it, the A750 is pretty much considered to be like a flat-screen CRT in a flat-panel LCD vesture, something like that. I mean, it seems like the color gamut and the quality seem to almost be spot on to a Sony WEGA Trinitron, imo. Maybe not, since LCD does have its limitations, but it's pretty darn close, if you want my two bits.

Hello guys, sorry if this is a repost of a common problem or something. But something's really got me worried after receiving my 46A750 this morning.

For some reason, when i first got it, turned it on with the white glove delivery guy still here. The TV turns on just fine.

So I turned it on later today in the afternoon, and the whole screen goes Red. Pretty much everything that's supposed to be black, is red instead. At first I thought it was just my connections or something. So i check all the connections, and even turned off the tv for 30 seconds. Turned it back on, and nope. Still all red.

So before I became insane, after about 2 minutes later. It turned back to normal. Anybody know what's causing this? Or do I just have a defective set and just need to contact samsung? Thanks!

Were any devices, especially HDMI devices turned on and plugged into the input that the TV was set to when it turned on? It could be an HDMI handshake issue.

If nothing else was on, and the TV went straight to red then it is the TV doing it. If it took a while to go away, i.e. multiple on/off cycles, you probably want to call Samsung.

If it happens more then I would be worried but one isolated incident I wouldn't worry about. You have to remember these TVs are more and more like computers and sometimes they do crash.

Mosh~~
