np, i love this feature on the TV and i get bored at work sometimes :-)

i don't want to post pics of every gspot report but if you ask i can post them. I have "A Scanner Darkly" trailer that plays and it is 1920x1056 and 23.976fps too.

as for the sound, i also have the trailer for "surfwise" that works, and it only has stereo sound with a 98kbps bitrate

There is no method to the madness! I've been searching 24/7 for the past few days and can't find a pattern. I"m trying to encode again to Xvid, but this time with PCM audio since its listed in the manual. We'll see what happens.

Got my 52-750 all set up with HD on friday, I was noticing when I put on the tv it will show me 1080i @60 is this what I should be seeing, I have auto motion plus set at medium and also have ps3. shouldn't I see 1080p displayed with blueray and shouldn't 60 be 120? I do love this tv though, best picture on a tv I've ever seen.

Try re-encoding with audio Sampling Rate at 44Khz. Often times DLNA systems are sensitive to audio formats.

Also regarding MOV (Quicktime) files, try changing the extension MOV to AVI and see if the TV will play it. It will save you some time and hassle of re-encoding. Just a reminder to try different files with different a/v format to see which ones work.

ok, i'll try it for the ones that don't work, but i should note that my "A Scanner Darkly" trailer plays fine and it's audio is "48000Hz 527 kb/s tot , 6 chnls (3/2 .1) "

thanks for the idea

We already got a warning from a mod not to list the price (unless it's MSRP) and where or else this thread will be locked.

I thought one of the advantages of the 750 over the 650 was the sound. The 750 incorporates a woofer, which the 650 does not. I have a surround system so I couldn't tell you about the 750's sound, but you could go down to your local store and test them out.

If you bought the set at BB you have 30 days to return the set for any reason.

Hope this helps.

Also it should be remembered that when the new sets come out, even the discounters wont have much of a discount on them. It takes a couple/few months before the tv's price starts to take a good dive. They want to make as much money as possible in those first few months from people like myself who can't stand to wait until the price drops.

Hi, prepress:

We only use the "onboard" sound on the LN52A750 and find it to be good for our needs. It would not impress, or meet the needs of an audiophile, but it is not intended to accomplish that.

I can't comment on the 650 as I've no experience with it.

Hope this helps.

I've played .mov files without issue on the 750 from my twonky server. From the playing around that I have done, I don't think the 750 cares about file extensions. The file doesn't even need a file extension. Not surprising since it seems the 750 is running Linux.

are you sure about that? People have had issues with different containers like MKV. I've tried to do a direct BD .m2ts h.264 file and it didn't work. The only supported extensions/vid-aud codecs they listed are:

Glad people are trying to get this to work though. I'm sure with sufficient time, we'll get this squared away.

edit: let me restate that for clarity. I do think there are more supported file formats, but they are undocumented unfortunately (like how IPODS are supported).

Would there be any point in me buying the 750 over the 650 if I already have the ability to stream content from my comptuer to my TV through my Xbox 360 and PS3?

I guess that is the question that you have to answer yourself. Do you want all those extra bells and whistles that come with A750 for a little more money or are you happy with the A650?

See if you can check both out at a store and decide which one you like best.

you should stick to the 650, unless you plan to connect the TV to your computer...or like the looks of the 750...

Anyone know if WMV HD would stream well into the A750? I plan to use them as test files, since I like downloading some clips from their showcase website, and hope that they're recognized.

never worked for me when i tried it....

So you say that if I were to download "Step Into Liquid" or "Coral Reef Adventure" or anything like that, no can do with the streaming? Hmm... Gonna have to see what the manual says when it gets here. Unless maybe an upcoming firmware update will allow for more formats in the future. We'll have to stay tuned to that one.

The supported formats are posted in this thread. WMV is not one of them. In fact I can't get the formats that are supported to work. Frustrating. Glad I have a fast computer because I'm encoding as many ways as I can think of to figure this out.
Well, all right... Guess that's where a PS3 or X360 will come into play, just thought I'd bypass those and stream right to the set, but I guess I'll have to power them up for little stuff like that, and hope for no "Red Ringer" console again.

Correct, no WMV-HD works....

Yeah, and here I thought that Microsoft and Samsung were partners of sorts. HAH. Guess Samsung wants to be better partners with Sony and the East rather than Steve Ballmer and Windows.

Well FWIW, Using Media Player 11 works much better for media server streaming then the supplied Samsung PC Manager.

I'm not positive if this has been covered yet, but here it goes. I have my 46a750 hooked up to my Time Warner Scientific Atlanta Cable box, connected via HDMI 1. There have been 2 times within the past 2 days when I go to vew the guide function of the cable box which minimizes the programmed being displayed. When I exit the guide, the guide itself goes away, however, the program remains in the small box at the top left corner of the screen while the rest of the screen stays black. I'm not using PIP or anything like that. The only way I know how to fix the issue is to unplug the tv for 30 seconds. Has anyone else had the issue or are there any permanent solutions to this very annoying problem.

P.S. this only happens about 1 in 10 times that I use the Guide function.

Thanks in advance.

I highly doubt that its a problem with the TV. The TV shouldnt have anything to do with that, its probably something thats going wrong with the cable box itself
