sr-605 audio issue

Hello,

I'm looking for some direction before I call Onkyo.

I have my SR-605 connected to Onkyo DVD player, and when I play a music cd the audio goes out and in again. Dvd player does not skip, but the "hdmi" icon on the SR-605 Lcd display flickers every time the audio goes out.
I read that some folks have an issue with SR-605 and intermittent HDMI connection to their PS and some Samsung TVs, but never heard about a problem with the Onkyo DVD player.
Any help appreciated.

Is your TV off? If your TV is off, this is a common problem. You can either leave your TV on, run an SPDIF connection assigned to CD in addition to the HDMI connection, or turn HDMI Monitor off when you want to listen to CD's.

Thanks for your reply.

I will play a cd with the TV on and off to see if there is a difference.

I have my Onkyo DVD player's audio out connected to the coax audio input on the SR-605, I assigned that input on the receiver to the CD, but there is absolutely no audio coming out. Is there anything else that needs to be done in addition to this?

Thanks
