The 3DS deals continue:

Also, according to Cheapassgamer, BB is doing B2G1 on all games starting Sunday. Makes for a slightly better deal per game than TRU's B1G50% running the same week (though, obviously, you have to spend more).

Two very good deals at Best Buy today for a pair of "good, but not $40 good" 3DS games: Pilotwings Resort and Steel Diver are $5 each. When I ordered mine they were no longer available for shipping, but I was able to get copies for in-store pickup.

Never played Steel Diver, but have spent some time w/ Pilotwings during some visits to the 3DS displays @ Best Buy & Target.

Both games for $10+tax? Thinking a trip to BestBuy is in order today....

I've heard Steel Diver is good but super short. And I'm actually quite content 3DS-wise with the GBA Ambassador games right now. But yeah, both games for less than what I typically spend on lunch? Why not?

Also, two versions of Nintendogs + Cats are also on sale for $5, but sold out for shipping and everywhere near me. Shame, I woulda liked to have picked up one of those for my girlfriend. OK, mostly for my girlfriend.

Local BestBuy had Pilotwings in stock, but not Steel Diver. In store pickup later on today.

Hey, so I only spent $5...Pilotwings resort will be under the tree for the kids (or is it kinda for me?)

Man, from what I can tell from this forum, having kids seems like a great excuse to buy toys.

Once you get past the early years where lack of sleep, dirty diapers, paranoia over whether you are actually being a good parent, etc....yeah, kids are a great excuse to buy (yourself) toys. Plus, kids are relatively easy - and generally quite fun - to make.

+1

Although I'd highly recommend practicing first. No shame in leveling up, right?

Amazon has Skyward Sword for $35 via GoHastings (+ $3.99 shipping). "Very Good" condition, but I've had good luck with GoHastings in the past, bought 2 or 3 games listed as "Like New" and all came with manuals, inserts and no scratches, so I'd venture to bet this will have the Music CD included. Even if not, that's a pretty sweet price considering this just came out < 2 months ago.

Gamestop's selling the 3DS for $150 from now until 2/12. There have been better deals in the past, technically, but I think this is the lowest price I've seen for the console that doesn't involve dealing with a gift card.

I can't believe they're putting these on sale- the $169 price tag seems to have been just the kick start that the 3DS needed, they're selling pretty well now... at $150 you could almost justify buying it and only using the DS backwards compatibility. Which is what you'll be doing until 3DS gets any real games.

I assume it has something to do with the Vita coming out soon.

And *ahem* SMB3DL, MK7, and RE Revelations alone are a pretty good start on the "real games" front.

aahhhhh, so it is. Nintendo looking to spoil Sony's fun, eh? Nice touch!

3Ds is getting there, not enough for me to pick one up yet... but soon. Still waiting for that redesign to hit, hopefully with a 5+ hours battery life so I can make it through a whole flight to/from California without having to read SkyMall

BTW, love the Zero Punctuation guy's take on SM3DL (rough language, if you're at work or around kids):

Currently available Wiimotes will most assuredly be the ones w/ Motion Plus built in. I believe we'll start seeing them in retail with the Wii U logo before the new console launches in Nov. Doubt there will be any deals on them, at least "new". If you are not averse to used controllers, a local GameStop might have some in stock for a little less cash.

Newegg is currently offering $12 off all preorders $50 and up via the promo code EMCJNNH224 (valid for the next 72 hours), including Wii U games. Note that it also works for the Wii U Pro Controller.

Time to clear out the warehouse as Wii U approaches...

Nintendo is dropping the price of the Wii to $129 as of 10/28. New discount bundle will be a black Wii w/ Wii Sports & Wii Sports Resort included on a single disc.

For anyone looking to pick up a Wiimote+, MidnightBox has a daily deal for a Wiimote+ and nunchuck for $17.

http://www.midnightbox.com/?dealboxtabs=1

That said, this deal does seem suspiciously good, and I've never ordered from MidnightBox before so I can't vouch for them as a seller...

Too bad they aren't selling Wii U download codes.

That does suck, doesn't it? How many places do in general? Besides GameStop.
I haven't seen anyone do it yet. The idea was supposed to be that download codes are the exact same thing as disc from the viewpoint of the retailer, with the same margins. This was supposed to mean that discounting would be exactly in line with the disc versions, but Nintendo has apparently been really slow on rolling this out.

It's not that big of a deal, as $50-60 download titles just means that I'll be a bit more picky with what I pick up on the Wii U. I was only ever going to play exclusives on it anyway as I have a 1080p/60 PC in the same room for multi-platform stuff, so not much really changes. So far with ZombiU, Little Inferno, and Lego City, every penny I have spent on Wii U software has resulted in some extremely high quality gaming without disc swaps. I've just paid a couple bucks more than the rest of you. smile.gif

gamestop.com appears to sell codes. No discounts as far as I know
