Anybody have any idea what could be causing this? Half of picture distorted (pics)

I have a Panasonic TH58PZ700U, it is about three months old and has a little over a hundred hours on it.

Here is my setup: I have a HD cable box and BluRay player plugged into a Sony DG910 receiver all via HDMI, then I have an HDMI wire in the "output" of the receiver going up to the tv. The HDMI wire from the receiver is the only HDMI wire plugged into the tv and the only wire other then the power cord.

Every time I watch tv the picture would sometimes get a little distorted at random times, but very infrequently. Now it happens all the time and is much worse then it was before. I had no choice but to call Panasonic and request getting the set serviced. The bummer is, the people that are going to pick it up in the local area do not give out loaners and can't service on the spot. They said that they will need to take the set to their facility and try to replicate the problem and then determine what action to take from there.

I am worried that the set is going to come back worse then it was before.

The problem has gotten much worse over time and now happens much more frequently. I've sourced the problem to be specifically within the tv set itself because when I unplug the HDMI wire to the TV when it is taking place, the picture is still distorted although black (half of the screen shows up as being sort of grey with a lot of picture "noise".

The way I see it is either the picture processor board or something of that sort is bad in the TV.

However, when I plug my BluRay player directly into the TV via Composite on the front of the set, all appears to be well. So do you guys think that it is maybe just the HDMI board on the TV itself that is going bad? I guess it is possible, but keep in mind that when it is happening and I unplug the HDMI wire from the TV the set is still displaying a distorted picture although the screen is entirely black. Lastly, it is always the same side of the TV...is it possible for the HDMI wire or connection itself to be the source of the problem to begin with (IE is there some sort of predetermined layout as for how the signal is sent in certain dimensions)? The problem starts exactly at the middle of the set.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated as I am really bummed out about this and really don't need the added headache.

That sucks. Get ahold of Panasonic and have them send a tech over to diagnose/repair the problem. You're within a year so it should be a free fix
