Does anyone know the differences between the DS DTX9900 the DS DSP7500T the DSP7700T? other than pricing

smintn

mosquito from FreeDTVShop.com told me the difference between the DS DTX9900 and the DS DSP7500T is the shape of the case and color of the remote otherwise they are the same.

The DSP7700T however has Analog PassThru and the other two do not.

Thanks thats what I needed to know. I have read about so many of the specs of these cecb units and I keep forgetting the ones I would like to try and get with my last coupon.

I do like the posts on the epg guides

what would also be nice would be info about the edit channels menu on these units.

I like the unit(s) that let you delete the sub-channels of your choice and not the whole channel set - the magnavox dvd recorder with tuner I have does not let you just remove the sub-channels

Right now I am leaning toward the Tivax unit.....

What box did you buy with your first coupon?

Did you look in the User Manual's for boxes that let you delete sub-channels?

The Manual's don't show everything for example the EPG's

I know that the TIVAX STB-T9 lets you delete sub-channels the cheapest place is www.digitalstar.com for $13.95
Just know there checkout system is strange. It asks for payment info before giving you a total

Also if you are going to get the DigitalStream DSP7500T DTV Provantage is the cheapest place known for $14.26

I bought a DTX9900 from the ratshack it's surprising how good a unit it is. I haven't had it on long enough to verify any overheating problem it's running the 13 inch Magnavox in the bedroom....

My other coupon runs out the first week of July....I was interested in the TR-40 or DTVPAL or whatever name it's going by now. But I haven't heard any details on the channel edit list or stumbled across any information that detailed....

I don't want to be caught in the echostar rush and my coupon to expire....

Do you know it there is a detailed manual for the Zenith unit all I can find are hookup drawings

I was also leaning toward the Access DTA1010 or the Artec T3A

The units with the epg being a full one is nice but not super important, Just as long as I can remove unwanted subchannels I'd be happy

I don't think Zenith has a detailed manual use the Insignia NS-DXA1 User Manual as they are the same

You should try out the AccessHD so we have a report on one of those

Do you want the Dedicated or Universal Remote AccessHD DTA1010?

You can buy ACCESSHD 1010D (Dedicated remote) for $19.95 at SavingLots this includes shipping

Or you can get the DSP7500 for about $15 from provantage. You have to call though.
I can't post the link because I don't have enough posts yet. Just search for provantage

I do like the universal remote on the DS but it's not a problem if any unit doesn't have it(I want the subchannel edit more than anything).

I didn't realize the DS had it until I opened the box.

My coupon was burning a hole in my pocket and I had to buy something There are no other places to buy anything other than ratshack closer than 50 miles and/or order on line.....You'd think more stores would have gotton on the bandwagon I know a lot of people that still like and use their old analog tvs and would probably love to get a converter. I have told them about the coupons etc but you know how that goes.

I may just purchase the Access unit I 'll let you know....

I am planning on calling Access customer support tomorrow and ask if their channel edit let's you delete the individual sub-channels if it does I will probably order one unless the support response I get sounds like a yes man...

One or two of the stations I get is still broadcasting with a sd and a hdtv version of their programming and I like to edit those out plus I also get rid of the stations that play qubo

Does anyone have the remote controll code for this device. I am trying to program it into my universal remote and there is no listing on AccessHD website and tried called but they won't tell me.

One manufacturer's universal remote may assign a different code than another manufacturer's universal remote to control the same device. For instance, Philips universal remotes assign the remote code 0340 to a Panasonic DVD; and some RCA universal remotes assign several remote codes, 3355, 3394, 3395, 3406, 3407, 3437, 3438 and 3443 to a Panasonic DVD.

You have to find the code assigned to your device by the manufacturer of the universal remote you have.

I have a Philips PM435S 4 device universal remote that controls my Zenith CECB, RCA TV, Dynex TV and Westinghouse TV. This remote comes with 12 pages of codes for 325 brands. It also has a code search feature for undocumented codes. This universal remote was priced around $7.

Universal "learning" remotes may learn codes from your original remote.

I have a Philips PMDVD6 6 device universal "learning" remote that controls several TVs and a Panasonic DVD recorder. This remote comes with 12 pages of codes for 325 brands. It also has a code search feature for undocumented codes. Since the Panasonic DVD code only controlled a few basic operations on the DVD recorder I taught this remote many of the specialized commands from my original Panasonic DVD recorder remote. This universal learning remote was priced around $10.

I was running out of time on my second coupon expiring May 30.
FWIW I ordered the DSP7500T last week on the 29th from Provantage and it came in yesterday. First impressions are very good. The whole package (packaging, box and remote) seems to have had a lot of thought put in to it.
The EPG is much better than my DTT900, handles multipath as well as the DTT900 and also gets one more weak channel than my DTT900, Accurian 4th gen hdtv box, Sylvania SRZ3000 or On Air USB GT receiver have ever decoded.
I wish I had bought this box with my first coupon.
