I'm on my 2nd 606 and both have the same problem, and now I'm not sure if it is an Onkyo thing, a PS3 thing, or some external noise in my wiring (that I am completely unable to isolate).
I'm someone else with a PS3. I haven't noticed any buzzing with my PS3/606. I was about to tell you that, but I checked again, just to be sure. I turned the volume up to max, and from my position about 6 feet away from the center speaker I couldn't hear anything. Then I put my ear right up to the speaker and sure enough, I could hear a faint buzz. I then slowly reduced the volume and the buzz disappeared (to my ears) at a volume setting of 51.
As a reference point, I then switched inputs to my Directv HR21 and did the same test. Again, from 6 feet away I couldn't hear anything, but with my ear on the center speaker, I could hear a faint buzz. Slightly softer than the PS3 buzz, but there, just the same. This time, the buzz went away at a volume setting of 58.
I would prefer not to hear any buzz, but I would say that the buzz I have will not detract from my listening experience. At any reasonable volume level, I would never hear it from a normal viewing distance, even in an absolutely silent part of a soundtrack. By way of full disclosure, I don't have particularly sensitive ears, so what's OK with me may not be OK for you.
Have you tried listening for the buzz with any other sources?
