RacksandStands--Misleading Shipping Info!

Ask for a refund for your express shipping. Seems like a no brainer to me. Otherwise, return it and move on...

I dunno, I don't understand why I continue to see new registered users openly complaining about a vendor/service/equipment on the open forum without dealing directly with the vendor.

What's the point? Is this a "I am going to post on AVS forum and everyone will know how horrible of a vendor your are." thread? I'm sorry but, I've only seen positive things about racksasndstands.com.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, since I have never ordered from them, but... really?

I for one have spent $00,000 of dollars on this hobby online...and if I have a problem with the vendor, I deal with them directly. Now, if they screw me, I may post the results, but I see nothing in your post that indicated you exhausted all of your options with the company.

Well you may have had a bad experience but my first question is if you needed a stand so quickly and already had installers coming why did you wait so long to order it in the first place?

I have ordered from Racksandstands and never had a problem. I agree with the other poster that you should have delt with them, and in fact you say you did and that they are sending it ASAP. Stuff happens, one bad experience does not mean everyone should avoid the place.

I am always leary of new members in any forum that come in and complain about a company, or ones that praise a company to the skies as one of their early posts.

Anyway I hope you have no further problems with them.

With these types of replies, I wouldn't be surprised if the op ever posted again... I don't understand why when someone expresses their bad experience with a vendor, people immediately attack the op. Implying that it is somehowtheir fault for the lack of customer service (in this case) from a vendor. All this op is saying is "hey, they said this, but did this, and I didn't like it." Take it for what it is and leave them alone.

I 100% agree. I am just about to purchase an equipment rack, hence why I am browsing this particular forum right now. I will definitely be checking these people out, and now I know that if I am under a tight schedule for when the gear needs to arrive, I will call them to verify shipping date, arrival date, etc. This is very valuable information to someone in my position, and I don't think the op should be chastised for his purchasing expectations vs. a vendor's reality. To the op, thanks for the information!

Let him be... he had a bad experience, and decided to share. I had no problems when I ordered my stuff, but I like it when people warn others just in case. I say, if you're not interested in reading these type of posts, you can just as easily ignore them!

I've used racks and stands twice. They have good prices and offer free shipping on many items. The first order was perfect - shipped/arrived on time. The second time, the item i ordered wasn't in stock, and i had to wait a bit. In the scheme of things it was just an inconvenience.

I find web merchants rarely update their websites when things are out of stock - you only find out after the fact. In fact, I ordered a subwoofer through SVS that was listed as in stock on their website but turned out to be back-ordered. I only found out when I chased the order after receiving no shipment notification in the expected time period. Anyways, the issue was sorted to the satisfaction of all. Computers make shopping quick and convenient, but it also means things slip through the cracks because there's not neccessarily someone double checking every order.

If you need something to arrive at a specific point in time, find a customer service or sales number and call. If they don't have a number, use somewhere that allows you to speak to a human being. You may pay a little more, but at least you're paying for a service that you're using.
