That may be; I guess it would all be moot if I could poke around inside an LCD's case before buying (they frown on that, and besides voiding the warranty the big-box stores don't even allow open-box returns on high-end TV's now).
I want a curved trinitron for the lower amount of reflections and am looking for 480i aperture grille crt tube with a smallish frame and weight. 27" to 32" inches or thereabouts.
The curvature in the horizontal plane increases reflections when compared to a Wega flatscreen
, though not from the ceiling or floor.
Looking at that link, it looks like your two best flat options would be:
1) KV-32XBR200 if you don't care about widescreen, or only care about it and you're willing to tweak the service menu
2) KV-32FS17 if you care about widescreen.
It's a handy link, but doesn't cover the earlier curved trinitrons which, admittedly, are deeper and thus have lower deflection angle. They put some fancy, but not perfect electronics in Wegas to compensate. Actually, my old 13" Wega was pretty deep for its display size, so that rule isn't universal.
