If you are going to quote from a movie, you should at least be somewhat familiar with it!

That quote was from Inigo Montayo (Mandy Patinkin), when he got frustrated by Vizzini using that word too often.

Now that you have explained the context of your earlier post I accept that it may have been meant to be less hostile than I had originally thought. Still, if you are going to throw barbs about familiarity with The Princess Bride, you might consider first learning that the name of the character you referred to is not Inigo Montayo. Actually, the character's name is, Inigo Montoya.

Now that we have serially nitpicked each other, can we agree to drop the subject and get back to having fun discussing Eureka and the inconceivable Wallace Shawn?

It was.

Here's the quote from the movie.

[Vizzini has just cut the rope The Dread Pirate Roberts is climbing up]

Vizzini: HE DIDN'T FALL? INCONCEIVABLE.
Inigo Montoya: You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Have you seen this weeks Eureka yet?

Or someone could have really twisted you guys up and said...

"That's the only argument I need Shawn!"

But seriously... I always think of him as the Grand Nagus from DS9...

As was stated, I was taking off the quote that followed the one that you had used from TPB. Sorry you misunderstood. Next time I'll put it in quotes or something--I should have added the big smily face.

Yep, that's the character I relate to the most. Off topic, but saw that the entire DS9 is available on Amazon Prime.

Haven't seen this week's Eureka yet but am heading back home from my trip tomorrow and hope to watch it before the weekend is over.

Not to worry. I probably overreacted in my post that started our little contretemps. Anyway, thanks for the apology, I appreciated it. All that aside, is there a movie more hugely appealing than The Princess Bride? If there is, I don't know what it would be. I watched the film for the umpteenth time a couple of weeks ago when I found it on one of the movie channels and laughed just as often and just as loudly as ever.

And of course, the REALLY embarrassing thing is, I screwed up the quote! Of course, it SHOULD have been, "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."

Sigh...

My Princess Bride cred is pretty tarnished now. Should have kept my mouth shut!

I don't think you have much to worry about. With the possible exception of The Big Lebowski, I can't think of a film that has as many, or as funny, quotable lines in it as The Princess Bride. If you can dredge up from memory with perfect accuracy every line from The Princess Bride that made you laugh, You're a better man than I am.

There hasn't been much Eureka traffic around here the last couple of weeks.

I liked the back stories. They added warmth and roundness to some of my favorite characters. They also transported me out of the town and offered a change from the too-familiar settings. The parts of this show that continue to move me most are the relationships, especially the one between Jack and Allison. I never get tired of seeing the two of them on screen together. Chemistry is always such a tricky thing, and who knows what makes it work, or not - but it certainly does flow between the two of them. Even with a story that I didn't find as engaging as usual, they managed to make me feel all warm inside.

And, will I ever miss seeing Salli-Richardson Whitfield on a regular basis when Eureka leaves the air. She's one of the most stunningly beautiful women in show business, and an actress capable of great dramatic range. If there's any fairness in the world, these actors will find themselves in some great roles in the future. They've done exceptional work on this show.

I agree. The back stories were a nice touch.

Fargo getting interviewed:

You wormholed Holly. No, we only kissed.
When they talked about the memory storage device, I groaned inwardly thinking it would be a clip show. Yes, there were clips, but they were minimal, and only served as background. It was not a clip show.

I liked the role-playing game misdirect.

Anyone see any similarities between the Aestreus (spelling?) theme and Starship Troopers? The Fargo voice overs and mission updates have a familiar ring to them. I wonder if we'll see any bug monsters swimming up out of the oceans of Titan.
Well starship troopers took that from war parodies as well as actual recruit videos from WWI and II.
The entire season its been like that.
"Do you want to know more" was the biggest hit for me.
I thought this week's show was really good. It made me feel for Deputy Andy and SARAH. And, much of the credit for that goes to Colin Ferguson's performance.
I can't believe next week is the season finale already!

I know, total bummer. They have always short changed this show, never will understand the reasoning behind the way they have treated this show.

So we have one more 13 ep season to go and it's all over, correct?
Right. And to replace it we have the uninspired drivel of "Alphas." I'm not faulting the actors on Alphas. I like them. But the writing and production value suck. Cheap, cheap, cheap.

Well, now we know what information Beverly stole.

I liked this episode. Good chemistry, moving performances, and very funny moments. Lots of laughs for me.

And say it ain't so Jo.
Well I wasn't expecting that.
Let's see. A large black hole, and they need to drive up to it with a bomb to make it evaporate. Yeah! That's Eureka.

Carter's phone has a CAMERA! Who knew?

The Senator tells the gorund crew that the launch has to take place, so fix the technical problem immediately, like it's no big deal.

The mission has been stolen.

Jo is leaving.

Luckily, we get another season.

I think there may be a slight chance Neil Grayston may move over to Warehouse 13 after Eureka leaves the air. I'm basing that just on the second crossover episode where he appeared a few eps back. There was some pretty good chemistry between Claudia and Fargo. Of course, I suppose it's just as likely (unlikely) that Jo will become a Warehouse operative, too. Since Warehouse 13 has been so successful for Syfy, it's likely they'll grow the cast more. If the transplant does (or even if it doesn't) happen, we might see cameos from other Eureka cast members in the future. They did a successful transition with Amanda Tapping moving to Stargate Atlantis in her same Stargate SG1 role, when Tori Higginson left the show.
I hope not. For me at least, Fargo is the weak link of the series. WAY too juvenile for the role.
He's part of the charm of the show for me. I love the character.
Fargo could be sucked into that black hole and I would not care. Most expendable character on the show.
