Samsung certainly is aware of these parts failing along with the Main Power Board failure Samsung PN# BP44-01001A. Their executive customer relations department is exactly what you said, nothing but a way to stroke the customer into not joining in on the class action lawsuit being filed as we type. They made a JUNK product those few years that have had an over 75% total failure rate and they were aware of the problem from day one. Same problem with the 67in (HL67A750FXZA). They have decided to take the wrong way out and deny the problem instead of stepping into it like they should. I did however, find a lone wolf company that can REPAIR boards since they are no longer available. http://www.moduslinkptstvboards.com/bp44-01001a/ For $65.96 they will repair, and return ship the power board to you and give you a warranty against failure. Best option out there right now until the lawsuit is settled. Samsung offered me 100 dollars towards the purchase of ANOTHER SAMSUNG, ZERO if I buy something else. As if I would ever buy anything made by SAMSUNG ever again!
