There is no perfect player, but between the BD-30 and the 1500 I think the 1500 is clearly superior. Panasonic does have a stellar reputation with firmware updates while Samsung leaves much to be desired in that regard.

It looks like the only player without glitches from these newly released models is the Philips which is 1.1 and not upgradable to 2.0--has no USB. I wonder if there are enough users to really judge that this player is glitch free and doesn't have other things such as an LFE issue.
I thought this would be an easy Father's day decision
