Convert SPDIF to 3 pin 3.5mm speakers. help

Thread Starter
I'm going to try and save up a bit more money for decent speakers. In the meantime I'm trying to connect my TV to my Logitech X-530 PC speakers. I have my TV connected to my PS3 via HDMI and want to get audio output to my little PC speakers. It seems that the only output I have on the TV is 'SPDIF output RCA phono.' So, I need to convert this to the 3 3.5mm pins of my speakers. Please tell me if and how I could do this. I figure I'll manually connect the speakers to the converter for the TV and to the PC depending on what I am using.

Thanks alot.

Doubtful. S/PDIF is either 2 channel, DolbyDigital or dts. To get 3 2channel outputs, you will need some kind of processor. IIRC, Creative and/or Logitech used to make something like that at one time.

BTW, those Logitech speakers are powered (no?), so you need to feed them either digital or line-level inputs, not amplified ones.
