How I setup my Auzentech X-Fi Prelude.

______________

- I use the ANALOG plugs from the sound card to the speakers.
Also, on the z-5500 where I plug in the analog to, I set it to 6 ch direct on the BACK of it.
As well as setting the effect to 6 ch direct.

On the auzentech soundcard, the colors of the plugs are in order, orange, black, green.
The orange plug is the second closest 3.5mm from the coaxial input.
And the coaxial input is right beside the optical input.

- I use XP and Vista Premium, and they are both setup the same way.
In Vista. Control Panel, Sound. Set "Speakers" as Default Device.
Right Click Speakers and click "Configure Speakers", set it to 5.1.
Also it will ask if your speakers are "Full Range" speakers, they are not.

I use only entertainment mode.
Here is how I setup entertainment mode, for Both XP MCE, and Vista Premium.

Speakers: 5.1 Speakers
crossover frequency: 110
subwoofer level: 71

X-Fi-CMSS-3D: Enable 3D Surround box is Checked,
Stereo Surround is checked, Stereo Environment is at 50%

X-Fi Crystalizer: checked and efault

SVM: is on

31: -3.0
62: -4.1
125: -7.5
250: -5.3
500: -3.9
1: -2.1
2: -6.4
4: -1.9
8: -0.7
16: 0.3

level: -11.1

My bass and treble settings are
bass: 40
Treble: 33

In Windows 7 32 bit with powerdvd 9 the sound is better than if i use powerdvd 7 with xp or vista.
It's more full sound in the read speakers, really beautiful. I was amazed by this and commented that I would get Windows 7 and powerdvd just because of this quality.

I installed Windows 7 build 7600 and had a problem with right rear speaker in my z-5500 5.1 sound system using analog from the soundcard.

There was no sound coming from that speaker.
To fix this I identified the problem: My mothersoard audio was plugged into the Auzen X-FI™ Prelude 7.1 soundcard.
So I unplugged it from the soundcard and plugged it back into the onboard audio on the motherboard and then fired up my pc and sure nuff I got sound from my right read speaker!
