3-disk JVC player does not recognize any discs

Unplugging the player, trying different discs, etc. does not help. Player refuses to recognize discs in any of the three bays.

Model: JVC XV-M555

Any suggestions?

Probably a dead laser. You could try cleaning the laser, nothing to lose by trying.

How do I do that? And is there only one laser for a three disk player? It seems odd that three lasers would not wort. And should I just scrap it if I can't clean the laser? It seems as if it would be expensive to repair. Thank you.

It's one laser. The changer simply maneuvers the right disc into place. You can buy a cleaning disc from Best Buy for like $20.
