The price for the 3 next gen editions being the same could also have to do with all 3 being the same in terms of features (DLC, custom song creation, etc). Looks like the PS2 edition will be the only "gimped" version.
And the sales numbers for GH3 Wii may have something to do with it. Why not get an extra $10 from those Wii folks this time out?
At least, save for graphics, Wii owners will get THE SAME GH game that 360/PS3 users have this time.
From what I have read, the PS2 version is not
being done by the same outfit that the Wii edition is using this time (although the Wii version is @ a different developer that the 360/PS3 versions).
edit: GameStop's website shows that GH:World Tour is to be released 10/27/08, and as of now the price of the Wii (and PS2) disc only versions is $49.99, 10 bucks less than 360/PS3. Guess you have no need to bitch now, Mongo!
And again, since disc-only is available for all editions, it appears the GH3 controller will work (albeit the GHIV guitar is "redesigned", which makes me wonder if the redesign meant scraping the Gibson logo off of it).
Here's a shot of skate god Tony Hawk @ the D6 conference this weekend. He participated in a Guitar Hero World Tour demo (judged by....Paula Abdul?!?!?...seriously). As you can see, he is playing w/ a GH3 gtr.
