Well I went to CC today and personally asked about the 32LZ800. They said they would'nt be getting any stock until some time July because they have to get in the Plasma Panasonics (don't know what models) in first. I am sold on it more so than any other 32'' I've seen (from what I've read and heard). The wait is killing me! I thought it had already been "clarified" that no 32'' have true 120 Hz? Each one seems to have their own type of "120 Hz".

Can any of you 37" owners of this model please take a picture of the display itself? i want to get a comparison and see if the 37" size is too big for my bedroom compared to the 32" model.

My current tv is a Sony 34" CRT, so either going with the 37" would be a slight upgrade in size, or i may opt for a slight downgrade to the 32" model.

Keep in mind, I am by no means anything closely resembling a photographer, so the quality isn't great, but here's a shot of my 37LZ800. It's sitting on an Ikea Jerker desk (fits perfectly!), and they keyboard in front of it is a Logitech G15 Rev1. Those should be enough for scale, but I'll try to take better pics tomorrow, when I'll have better lighting.


Also, of interesting general note, found out that you can NOT use the Motion Focus feature of the TV if it is receiving a 24p signal. I finally called up Panasonic to find out why I couldn't use it when watching Bluray movies....turns out my PS3 was set to output 24p.

thanks for taking the pic hard-case! although that pic would be better if you werent so close to the tv, you need to back up and get a wide shot of it, this way i will generally get a good idea of what to expect scale wise.

i'm generally wanting to know if going from 32" to a 37" is there any difference in screen height? that's the reason why i may lean toward the 37" model.

From looking at the Panasonic website, the difference in height from 32" to 37" is exactly 3".

This really sucks, no one in my area carries this TV (So far I have checked with CC and BB) and I dont want to order it online even though I know I will get a better deal for the fear of getting a defective TV or having any issues that I would need to return it for. Also because I havent seen the picture quality in person, there is only so much pictures can do for picture quality.

On Amazon there is a dealer selling it for $925 which is the cheapest I have found so far for the 32" model. Neither CC or BB in my area will be carrying this line of Panasonic's (32 or 37) anytime soon if at all. I had my heart set on the 32XBR6 for a while but after reading post after post on this site about that TV and comparing it to this Panasonic, it seems like Sony isnt the best choice this time around.

Looks like I have to either wait at least a few months to see this in stores or just go ahead and order one online.

I tell people that are indecisive to always buy within the store. Individuals who know what they want, buy online. You are always going to develop buyers remorse within 30 days. Just buy in the store!

Its not about being indecisive. I always do my research on anything I buy and as most know there is more info on the net that can be looked up then any electronics retailer. But a TV is one of those things that has to be seen in person/played around with the settings to make sure it is what the manufacturer and others who have seen it/or have it say it is.

It isnt a $100 purchase or $500 but $1000 purchase that I will have to live with for at least a few years since scrounging up $1000 is not as easy as it may be for others.

I agree with you. Although the reviews are very limited because its a fairly new display. Overall, it will be comparable to Samsung and Sony LCDs.

Yes $1k is alot of money to shell out for a display and you want to reassure that you made a wise choice. I know what you are saying...

We show stock on all LX and LZ displays....

Do a simple yahoo shopping search and you'll get several vendors who are selling the 32LZ800 for $870ish....Beach Camera, Buydig, and Butterfly Photo.

It seems kind of unlikely that the price is going to dip much below its current $850-$900 price anytime in the next month, but who knows.

My 32LZ800 should be arriving on Wednesday - hopefully I like it as I haven't yet seen one in person.

Has anyone here considered the Toshiba 32RV530U or seen one in person? This is replacing the 32HL67U and is also a 1080p unit like the XBR6 and the LZ series Panasonic. The Toshiba is almost $100 cheaper which is pretty unheard of for a 1080p TV from one of the larger electronics makers.

I'm actually kind of weary on some of the toshiba's after hearing that some aren't actually made by toshiba and are outsourced from cheaper companies.

I've been mostly eyeing this Panasonic, Sharps, and Samsungs. My budget is around $900-1100.

also for the owners of this tv, how well does it scale PS3 and 360 games to 1080p? this is actually a deciding factor for me, since i was thinking of probably just sticking with a 720p display instead. But then again i want to take full advantage of Blu-ray movies so i would appreciate the 1080p resolution screen. plus i sit roughly 3-4' when i game.

I'm in the same exact dilema as you man! Own a PS3, use it as my primary BR/DVD player and i'm mainly looking into 1080p because i sit fairly close when gaming, i want to take full advantage of blu-ray, and be future ready for the next gen of game consoles down the line.

I got to admit though that i'm eyeing the Toshiba as well.lol but i'll wait for my hands on reviews before investigating that one. I'm mainly focused on the Panasonic right now, but like many here it's not available in my stores yet around me so i have to wait a few weeks till they get them in stock to do a proper comparison.

I've actually considered a 32" display bit figured it was kind of small for 1080p, so i'm looking to get a 37" display, since i feel it may be a little more easier to see the 1080p details.

Same and same! I also sit 3-4 feet when gaming and use my PS3 to watch Blu-Ray movies on it as well. I was too considering the XBR6 but am going to wait until the Panny shows up in my local retailer stores. Looks like we've got a party!

For the people posting pictures, how close does the posted picture look to real-life? I returned a Samsung 4071 because of flicker and I'm still deciding what LCD to get for my bedroom. I'd have gotten the Samsung 40" 650 already if it wasn't for the red frame.

This TV is getting a lot of good reviews, but it doesn't seem like a lot of people actually have it, and the pictures that are posted of the image just don't look that good IMO. I don't know if it's the cameras being used, lighting or what, but compared to the shots taken of the Samsung and Sonys, the picture looks really dark and colors don't look natural.

I can't be the only one that's not impressed with the screenshots, can I?

Its becoming harder and harder to wait out even longer then I already have for a proper display to take advantage of my PS3. This winter it will be 2 yrs since I have owned my PS3 and still have not really seen the movies/games the way they were meant to be seen. I really want to wait till the Panasonic appears in a local retailer but it looks like its going to be at least a few more months if not longer.

Also alot of the local retailers here dont have there HDTV's displaying through a HD source so I cant see what its really capable of. Also those same retailers dont have the remote by the display anymore, maybe for the fear of it being stolen/broken, etc. Basically for me, seeing one in person will do very little to convince me that the picture on this TV or any other is better then its competition for the reasons I stated above which really does suck.

I will try to wait though, maybe it will be a bit cheaper then also.

yeah hopefully the wait will make it a bit cheaper. Amazon.com seems to have them in stock for about $945, but i don't really want to take the chance and would rather buy it locally incase something happens to it. easier that way.

Sounds like a good TV....one thing I'm curious about is how it displays pics/wallpapers etc...I have a 26in 1080p PC monitor and it's ability with hi-res pics is outstanding.

Matt, where in MA are you? If there is a local Tweeter in your area they will most likely have them on display. Thats where I saw the LZ800; Tweeter in North Attleboro
