Yes... Last year arthurs posted those pics. Those are photos from his personal system. The LS9's made an impression on me (at my age that means a lot) and I searched the forum for his post. Very, very nice looking product by AV123 and Mr. Mark S.

Ultimately, you need to listen to the speakers you are going to buy....

The Paradigms are very well known, and widely available, alot of these other speakers are very hard to find to get an audition... I wouldn't buy a speaker unless I was somewhat familiar with their sound...

I have the Paradigm Studio's so therefore I found comfortable buying the Sigs sight unseen/unheard... I bought them used, and I love the sound... Pretty much the same as the studio's but more refined... and much prettier...

How about something more "affordable?"



Vienna Acoustics Schonbergs. About $3,000 pr. These sound as good as they look, IMO. I'll take mine in black.

I think the best-looking (but not best-sounding) speakers ever were the Martin-Logans of a decade or so ago, the lineup that included the Aerius-i, SL3, and reQuest. The most aesthetically (and sonically) balanced of the lot was the SL3:


Their current lineup is nowhere nearly as graceful and harmonious looking. (They don't sound any better, either.)

Some others I quite like:

Tannoy TD12, though they'd look better without the supertweet and I bet they'd sound better, too.

Good question. I watched them for a while and even though I think there were some people who did receive them on a pre-order, inventory is not available at the moment? Correct me if I'm wrong. I found my huckleberry anyway, but the 6's were a consideration for me. The 9's are to large for my small room.

Why not... I have sampled a ton of higher price speakers that I can't afford, and not all of them are leaps and bounds better then some others...

I will tell you straight up, that every chance I get to test drive a Ferrari, I will jump all over it, and I own a Honda... Just took out one of my customers Porsche Cayman S, and let me tell you, it was a freakin blast... Can I afford one, nope, do I want one, nope... Did I say no when he handed me the keys with a smile on his face...? Yeah Right...

If I want to go really fast, I can always jump on my FJR 0-60 in 2.8.

The Paradigm and Monitor Audio are by far the 2 best offerings for my tastes. Very sleek and classy with some serious sexy mixed in. Plus...most of us could actually see ourselves having a set of them someday. The others are awesome to look at, but knowing you will never be able (or want to) afford them is a bit of detractor. But this is such a fun thread to break up the "what should I buy" overload and monaughtny of the forum right now. I can't take my eyes off of the Monitor Audio Platinums, I just keep going back to their web-page.

Another of my favorite, very different then the sonus faber strad's!

There are some beautiful speakers posted here for sure! While I love the look of piano black and fine hardwoods...

Never heard that one before.... though some say they look like a giant ham turned on its side.

These are definietly love them or hate them. They are definitely unusual.

Any other speaker manufacturers use a marble cabinet? I wish more speaker companies did. Resonance = zero, and the material is amazing to look at.
