Final choices: Samsung 46A650 or Sony 46XBR4 ?!

Thanks to all who have help me so far! I've found a great deal on either of these sets locally.

I can get the Samsung 46A650 for $1850 or the Sony 46XBR4 for $1950.

I'll be using the LCD primarily for gaming, and of course to watch blu-ray movies. To keep the thread simple, which is the better deal? Some are complaining of input lag on the Samsung 6 and 7 series LCDs. Not sure about the Sony as I haven't read up on it because it wasn't a possibility until now.

I'm quite torn right now. I think I am leaning towards the Sony but I don't want to be disappointed. I know the Samsung looks great, but I think the Sony will deliver as well. My main concern is PQ and possible input lag.

Ghosting and smearing for Sony XBR4. And if you value the review from CNet, Samsung A650 is better than Sony XBR4.

But if you're leaning toward Sony, then buy it and be done with it.

I've been leaning towards the 650 myself. My only concern is input lag for games but I think I'll be fine.

Let's put it this way. You can put those complain about game lag on one hand while you need a lot of hands for the happy owners who also play games on their A650. And as far as I know, the loudest complaints about game lag are in A750's owners thread.

is glare an issue? if it is then go with the xbr4, if not the 650 is the set for you, escpecially with the cheaper price.......

It's a matter of whether you can like with the glare of the 650 or not. Both are excellent LCD's.
