I know there are code issues with running cables through an enclosed wall but I can't seem to find any advice either way when the backside of the wall is open. I'm looking at mounting a flat screen tv on the wall and running cables behind a wall and down into a custom built-in shelf/cabinet that will be on the same wall, the back of which is part of an unfinished area in our basement. It seems like I could just run the cables through a hole in the wall (plan on getting a wall plate/sleeve thingy) down to my components but I thought I'd see if ya'll had any input before I do something that might violate code.
