I will try to answer this one for you,,

I do feel it is a little weird not having temp settings on such a pricey TV.

But in all reality it does not suffer any PQ from not having the temp settings.

Skin tones are dead on!! whites are excellent!!
The color's jump off the screen and the Black's are just amazing!!

The depth is just crazy!!

Also if it plays 1080p/24Hz back properly.

I think the 9G should give most of what you ask for except zero lum.
It also provided viewing angle but fails to supply blooming due to local diming.

I was saying let me know when that display can do all these things that the Pio's do and is on the shelves. Even with those black levels there is alot more to it.

I agree, it is a bit strange that such an expensive T.V. doesn't have simple color temp controls. I'm glad to hear that skin tones are dead on, that is and has always been the first thing I look at when I get a new panel. So if I don't need it, I won't miss it.

Same boat, sort of...
Waiting on reviews (D Nice....everyone awaits with anxious ears.....)
before I make the final decision. For me, right now 151 is winning, but again, the final choice has not been made. Plus, I've gotta save up some extra dough to make it happen. I know 60" heaven is not too far off.

I think that is what Pioneer is counting on. Out of sight out of mind. Most people will not miss what they never had.
I used to adjust the settings on my 5010 all of the time including the color temp. Now I just leave it alone and everything seems fine. Im sure with certain shows or movies if I did start adjusting again the color temp might look better with different settings.

I have just pre-ordered a Pro-151, a BDP-51 and the Elite SC-05 Receiver from Robert at Value Electronics. They are really great to deal with.

We are building a new house and these will be going in the family room. We're going to hang Paradigm Reference Millinia 30s as the LCR, SpeakerCraft in walls for the surrounds (wife didn't like the look of the ADPs) and the Ultracube 10 Subwoofer.

I can't wait for the house to be done! I might never leave the family room. Thank God it's right next to the kitchen!!

Get a vibrator chair with a fridge on one side, and a top loading microwave oven on the other side. You can use the fridge as a table top.

While your at it, take out the bottom cushion and replace it with a toilet seat. Now, you have it all.

Seems that the set sent to D-Nice was broken. We're going to have to wait for a replacement. Check owner's thread for details.

Is it true I recalled that D-Nice stated somewhere that the 10th gen pio will not include a 60"? Is this the last year for the 60"?

End of week two, and of all the pre-order Posters (seemed like dozens), only two (3 counting D-Nice's broken one) have received their 6020

Am I missing something?!?! ... or are all the owners still breaking them in ... or are they sitting in front of them mesmerized

Guys,
My set somes in Tuesday. First time I bought a TV online like this...what should I do and not do?

Is it ok to have the delivery guy stay while I open before I sign and mark any box damage right?

I ordered the 6020 3 days ago and according to the shippers, I should be getting my set between 6/11 - 6/18. Shipping is slow :-). Looks like most of the sets are still enroute..

This is exactly what is happening. I've got mine on Monday and running break-in DVD since that. The problem is that I can do it only 15 hours a day and need to turn it of during night because my father in law sleeps in that room now and buzz and warm from display bothers him. This is my first plazma, so I can't really compare it to 8G or Pana, so my reviews would be quite useless. I've seen many TVs in stores and so far this one looks amazing. Well, I do have few questions/concerns which I hope will be answered soon.

I tested H264/VC-1/MPEG-2/WMV9. All worked but the h264 video wrapped in AVI. Anyone have a link to an mp4 h264 video I can test?

I got my 6020 thursday and had it set up later that night. Played around with it a little to get the HD/SD/PC signals at the right aspect ratio. Right now I have the picture at "Optimum" setting as it seems to be the best preset setting for me anyway. Don't have much time to tweak the settings over the next few week so will leave it like this for a while. Or until D-Nice posts some settings that I can try out.

So prior to the 6020 I have had Sharp 52D62 LCD, Pioneer 5050 plasma, Pioneer 433CMX plasma, etc. The 6020 replaces the Sharp in the living room and all I can say is the 6020's picture is impressive. It displays even deeper colors than the Sharp which I thought was pretty darn nice. The Pioneer's Kuro definitely stand out as I was never happy with the Sharp's grey'ish blacks which in addition to the blinding whites, bandings and occasional mosquito effect ruined my viewing pleasure.

Since I don't a 8g I can't compare the 6020 with its predecessor nor for that matter current plasmas from other manufacturers. Needless to say this is one impressive set and I'd be hard pressed to consider any other display at the moment.

chad lol i remember when sound and vision or was it home theather mag? made the plasma vs lcd webpage test ..... truely amazing the best plasma and the best lcd but lcd needs alot of add ons to keep up while the plasma is running like a champ..... lcd will not be on the level of plasma and by the time if it reaches that level plasma will be long gone superior.....

sorr for off topic but in my defense theirs alot of off topic to begain with

And lets not forget Pioneers filter and processing.
When Sony decided to use samsung panels how come we never heard anyone saying "this is the last sony"? Would you consider a sony and a sammy the same. heck no.
Just wait until the 9G's are reviewed. They will again be the TV of the year and Cnets reference set to measure others by. And if you think that will not happen the you are the delusional one.
Samsung already tried to beat the Kuro with an LED backlit LCD (81F) and lost.
Anyway, lets get back on topiic.
