Moving to a bigger place with bigger glare :(

Hi folks, I've been reading this forum for awhile, and now that I'm finally ready to take the plunge I figure I should ask all of you for your opinion.

I'm moving to a new place soon, and apparently it gets pretty bright. Up until now I had my heart set on an LN46A650 (that should give you an idea of my budget), but with its ultra glossy screen I think I'm going to be in glare-hell. Can anyone out there suggest a comparable model, Samsung or otherwise, that has a matte or only semi-glossy screen that would work out better for me?

Thanks,

-i

Samsung LNT4669 has a matte screen. You could always wall mount the TV slightly higher and angle the TV downwards, helps with glare.

Mosh~~

I have a Toshiba 52xv540 in a west facing 6 French door room that has absolutly no reflections when you turn it on. When off it is a semi matte screen that has muted reflections. It's nothing like the Samsung "plasma" like gloss screen. I have no issues with my tv at all. In fact, Samsung makes the 46 and 52 panels!

Good luck, check out the xv540 and it's thin bezel cousin xf550 forums for yourself.

He never gave a specific budget, only said his range was around that of a 46a650. Secondly, the Sony is only about $240 more on Amazon. Personally I consider that in range. When spending $2000 on a tv that isn't a huge price increase. So I guess only he can tell you the answer to your question.
