Harmony 550's functionality is slowly degrading?

Im not sure why this happening, but for some reason my 550 is barely able to control my Onkyo 304 receiver.
When I first set it up 6 months ago I had no problems-everything turned on quickly and w/o issues.
Now, when I hit activities for watching TV-JUST the Onkyo either turns on 5-10 seconds later than everything else or, doesnt turn on at all.

The weird thing is, is that its getting worse and worse.
I would say its the batteries, but everything else works perfectly.

Any ideas?

Try the Onkyo remote to see if it works any differently. If it behaves the same, it could be the IR sensor on the Onkyo. If you can find the IR window on the Onkyo, I would try cleaning it.

If you have glass doors in front of the receiver, try opening them.

Try cleaning the IR window on the front of the 550.

If the original remote works okay, but the 550 does not, it could be the batteries are getting weak in the 500.

You can also check your setup of the remote and change the order the components are powered on. Try putting the Onkyo first.
