2008 Samsung HL67A750 LED DLP owners thread - Page 90

Hoping to get some advice on my HL67A750. My 30 month old son decided it was a good idea to swipe some cleaning solution and spray it all over the front of the screen, which then dripped down into the body of the set. The screen itself seems to be doing ok - some moisture damage, but it seems to be going away. The problem is that the set now scrolls down through channels incessantly - and any menu I bring up also scrolls down down down. I don't use the internal tuner, just the HDMI inputs.. but if I can manage the timing to switch it to the input I normally use, it just switches back to the tuner since it seems to think "channel down" is being pressed all of the time. Don't see any way to disable the internal tuner completely. Am I screwed? I have a buddy who sells electronics for parts or recycles them, so I could potentially get a few bucks back but I'd rather know it's pretty much a lost cause before going that route.

I would turn it off, unplug it and let it dry out for a few days...leave it alone...hopefully whatever liquid is causing your issues will dry out...patience will pay off...

My guess would be that the liquid cleaning solution has gotten to the circuit board of the manual controls on the right side panel. There is a chance that this will eventually dry out. You can also choose to open the back end of the set and unplug the connectors running to these manual controls. Having it unplugged will not effect the operation of the set via the remote.

My brother, to whom I gave my 4 1/2 year old 67A750, turned on his TV today to tell me the thing has a yellow tint throughout the entire screen. It's 5 months out of warranty, too.

Sigh, blue LED went out tonight. Tested it with a 9 volt battery and nothing. Anyone know a "reliable" place to buy it for less than $100?
