Any difference between these two sets other than looks?? They appear identical to me!

Is there ANY Non-Cosmetic Difference Btw 46" Z and 46" XBR6

Thanks Soap! Now let's get some impressions posted over the next few days with various content.

Oh yeah, and try and leave the flash off when taking pics

Soap, did you get the silver bezel or black? I really want to see the black version.

I've only had the TV for a couple of hours, but so far, I'm extremely happy! The slim silver bezel looks great! The remote also looks and feels good. The panel is pretty impressive. It has great black levels and contrast. The free running scene of Casino Royale looked really good. The colors really popped off the screen. Some of it looked a little too real and not movie-like. Turning off the motion enhancer seemed to help this.

Here are some of the pictures that I've taken of the TV. I haven't done any calibration or adjusted any of the settings. It's straight out of the box.

Here are two videos I took running Fudoh's test:
MOV00017.mpg (4.2 MB)
MOV00018.mpg (9.6 MB)

Thanks for the pics and info.

Best looking and best all round package LCD yet IMO.

Hope the performance stacks up esp motion and dimming/uniformity.

Does anyone know whether the Z4100 have WCG-CCFL backlighting?
Does the backlight auto dim even when ACE is turned off? It's a behavior that the v4100 & w4100 do.. :-(
post #13 of 3520
This is a better-looking design than the XBR6/7/8 imho. Any word on availability in Canada yet?

I pre-ordered mine from ABT along with the sony bravia home theater system that has the wireless speakers. They should be getting them in around the 13th. I can't wait!! Bought a PS3 off ebay which will be in soon, and will be getting the DirecTV HD DVR. I'll be setup then!

Try it without game mode first. Then go into game mode. I've never had to use game mode with my XBR because there isn't any lag with it.

I really like the silver bezel. My Sharps have silver bezels and actually prefer them over glossy black. And for the hole issue? When its on the wall you'll just have to see if it bothers you? But I'll bet you won't notice it and if it does bother anyone, black electrical tape across the back of the glass should cover it. But when its hung on the wall you'll just have to see.

Looks like a great set from the pics in this thread and the biggest plus for this set its "MATTE"!!! Thanks to Sony for not going down the "glossy road"!!!

WOO HOO!! This TV is finally out. I want to see how this TV compares to the A750. I'm either going to get the A650 or the Z4100. Hopefully the Z4100 is better if not I will get the A750.

For a 46" (plus sales tax but free shipping until June 24)! Ouch...
I'm interested in getting the 40-inch one, but I kind of hope to get mine from Best Buy (June's my birthday, and I can get triple Reward Zone points on a June purchase). But in the meantime, I will settle for reading everyone's reviews of this model.

Can someone explain what this is? And please explain it's advantages over what the S, V and W series have (I assume they have something different). Thanks.

Yes, it's just money and you cannot take it with you when you're gone but you still need to be financial responsible.
