Ok guys here the question. I am looking into buying a nice used tv. The tv I am looking at is the Samsung HL-R5668W. The problem is is that the tv screens image fades from left to right. It is fine on the left side of the screen but gets darker and darker and is black at the right side of it. Is this an easy problem to fix? Does anyone have any idea if its worth buying the tv for cheap and fixing it? thanks a lot

It looks like it may be the side shadow issue which is being covered under extended warranty by Samsung now. It could also be a dead DMD board which costs over $1000 and is not covered by warranty. Both can cause half the tv to blank out. If it is the light tunnel collapse I don't know if it would be covered for a second owner. If you look at the tv in person, you should be able to see the tv thru the shadow if it's the light tunnel issue, if you can't see anything, don't buy it, its the DMD issue.

Maybe he can get it fixed before you buy it if it's the light tunnel collapse.
