Whole House Audio Question

Thread Starter
I have a Nuvo Essentia running 6 zones in my home. Works great but I am wanting to get more control over what is playing. Right now, I have my Yamaha receiver running to the Nuvo and the Tuner 2 output of my Dish Network 622 reciever running to the Nuvo. This works good except that you have to go to the Yamaha to change AM/FM channels or go to a bedroom where Dish is playing to change channels on it (playing audio channels only). What I am wanting to do is use a remote, like a Harmony, and RF extender, set it up to control the Yamaha and Dish Network, and be able to change stations via the Harmony anywhere in the house or back patio. Does this sound like it will work? Is there a better option? Also does anyone know if the 622 can be setup to have preset or favorite channels to be able to cycle thru them without actually being able to see what station you are selecting? I hope all this makes sense. Thanks for any input.

There are many ways to do this, but a few are.

ghostevent.com/
http://www.promixis.com/
www.cinemarsolutions.com/mainlobby.html
www.charmedquark.com/
http://www.embeddedautomation.com/EAHAmControl.htm

They will all run on a PC and accepts IR codes to control something like a Nuvo.

Could use the "favorite channels" function of the Harmony for this -- hit the "Media" button and have a few pages of favorites with icons if you so desire...
