Hey, got the ps3 and pioneer 918 and im watching spiderman 3 for testing the 5.1 uncompressed. ive tried everything and even when on auto surround i cant get it to work. it goes straight to d. pro logic 2. and even then the surround speakers dont work. What am I doing wrong? Thanks

Going to Prologic2 would indicate the PS3 is sending 2 channel....
Check your PS3 setting or ask in the PS3 Blu-ray Player thread maybe.

Your not taking the HDMI out to a DVI input by any chance are you? If so this has been reported with a fair amount of AVR's out there.

Ps3 is lpcm out from the bluray settings. I have everything going through HDMI. no other cable is connected. I can use the avd surround modes and those work fine, but cant get the pcm one. I emailed pioneer about it, but god knows how much longer theyll take to get back to me.

What is your connection to the display? Not HDMI I take it?

Still has to be a PS3 setting... Hook up the optical, just for a little test here.

In the PS3 Console go to audio settings, verify that it is set to allow 5.1 and 7.1 lpcm.
