Can't say I'm surprised... I emailed them early this morning. No response yet.

BTW I'm order 3499584.

As of now it is still showing Order Number 3498718: "2 items awaiting confirmation by regional warehouse."

Maybe from the order numbers we can figure out who's in line.

Since they took my coupons I have nothing to lose by waiting to see what happens.

I ordered May 14th, order # is 3500265, and it's still showing "in progress". Hey, maybe tomorrow's the day?

They do sell more than just DTVPals. For all you know, you could be the next DTVPal in line.

Order number 3502992 and "in progress" in the system. I've been all but jumping up and down this week as people have started getting the DTVPal from other sources. My coupons expired May 28th so I didn't have that option!

I feel like that old Mervyn's commercial that went "Open, Open, Open" only I'm going "Ship it, Ship it, Ship it"!

Order number 3500660 and "in progress" in the system. Awaiting delivery from supplier.

OK...so the latest news from Provantage is that they have received NO stock yet at this point and that NO orders have been shipped. She assured me that orders WILL definitely ship when stock arrives...which leads to the next information:

Stock is not expected to arrive now until July 9. I'm assuming they will start shipping sometime after that time in the order that your order was placed.

That's all the news today. Tune in next time when we'll be talking about what boxes you should buy after digital broadcasting becomes obsolete...

Yeah, got an email saying they hope to start shipping 7-9-2008 (at least it's July of this year...).

Not surprising that Dish would fill their own pipeline before honoring the one SlingMedia filled. The infighting must be awful.

For the record...

Preordered like everyone else. With all that has gone on I do not remember getting a letter canceling my order with them but I can't swear...
My order shows "in progress" on their site. Got the NTIA letter saying they may reissue my coupon. I emailed Provantage and they said it was backordered and would ship on 7/9.

You would be hard pressed to come up with a much better drama than this.

PS. I emailed the 2 contacts on the NTIA letter just to see what/if they have anything to add.

Good luck. That would be a great outcome. I wouldn't have emailed them and brought it to their attention, though...

I ordered mine (one DTVPal) around the same time with order number 3496280. And, no My order did not get cancelled. I am on hold to talk to a rep from Provantage as I type. The Rep says estimated ship date is July 9th on my order and indicated most orders should be shipped by the end of July depending on availablity. When asked if they had any in stock at this time, the answer was no.

Per Kathy at Provantage just now, the DTVPal's are still supposed to start shipping on Wednesday, July 9th. In my case she said they would most probably ship from a Chicago warehouse.

I don't know. I'm tempted to cancel my order and sacrifice my coupon since I've been reading all the problems people are experiencing with this box. There's been talk that the problem list is starting to look like a laundry list... It's gonna start to get expensive if we're expected to pay shipping to send defective boxes back to them to get them fixed so they work right...which they should do in the first place...

xpfshost, I don't think that you should cancel your order. That would probably be the more expensive option. You'd lose your $40 voucher, and any replacement box you purchase will most likely cost around $60--much more than the Provantage price. The cost of shipping the box back to Dish Network for the software fix isn't very much compared to the amount of money you'd lose by canceling.

But I understand that you'd be upset if your box didn't work in the first place. Personally, I think that companies should pay for return shipping on defective products, but not many do anymore.

Another possible scenario is that Provantage will end up canceling our orders, and we'll hopefully then get our coupons back from the government.

Anybody get any good news from Provantage today?

I'm not too concerned with the problems owners are experiencing with the DTVPal, most seem to be with the timer, which is directly related to the market they are in. I suspect the better your local stations are about keeping their clocks in sync and PSIP info up to date, and the better signal you have, the less problems the DTVPal will have.

It's funny. I preordered thinking I'd be one of the first to get one. Turns out we'll be the last...

Just got off the phone with Provantage. The woman I just talked to said they're still on backorder, no stock at the distributor, and she now has no ETA on when they would ship, but she's guessing at least a couple of weeks....................................................... .....................

I paused and I could sense she was bracing for me to start yelling at her. Instead, I busted out laughing, and she did the same once she heard me. She apparently knows what is going on and replied, "I know...it's been a real headache."

Looks like we might get the fixed boxes after all...
