I would not worry about the build date Never seen a problem one way or another depending on build dates.

Heck , just a few hours ago, around 3pm I was sitting here in my computer room/office here at home and I heard a loud bang, ran out and looked in my living room and my 151's bezel was laying on the floor, it fell off.

I am gonna put on a very good 2-part epoxy I know of on it, this will secure it permanently for sure.

Wow, that doesn't sound good. You shouldn't have to epoxy a brand new tv this expensive. I'd call Pioneer.

Guys,

I have more bad news to report. If you go back few pages you will see I reported about a stuck or dead pixel on my 151. Now as of Sunday, January 25, 2009 my 151 is powering off randomly. Yesterday around 3:30pm it turned off itself for the first time, first I thought I probably enabled sleep-timer by mistake so I didn't pay any attention. Then again at around 9:15pm last night it turned off by itself and I knew something wasn't right. I have TV, my receiver, DVD player, Sub and Cable box plugged into APC H10 Power Conditioner (Surge Protector, Automatic Voltage Regulator, Isolated Line Filter) so this morning around 7:15am I unplugged TV from that APC unit and plugged it directly to the wall outlet and little before 11am this morning TV turned off again and again around 3:30 and again at 8...

Btw I posted some pics of my stuck pixel a while ago but seems like it is not a pixel issue even though Pioneer contracted local tech who came to my house on Friday and said that it was missing cell - missing picture cell he meant. Today I actually took a magnifying glass and was able to see RED, GREEN or BLUE pixels perfectly lit but there is almost fluorescent green light or a crack (looks white from distance) bleeding through the panel and spans across multiple pixels but visible on blue, purple, and pink backgrounds (so far). I got my 151 from Robert @ Value Electronics little over 2 weeks ago so I spoke with Robert today and requested a replacement but don't know if that is going to happen. He got me a case number through Pioneer for random auto shutoff feature and was told that they are going to replace power supply.

At this point I don't know what I want to do with my TV. If anyone interested for part let me know kidding.....

What's your No Signal Off setting?

Yeah definitely would call Pioneer/or dealer. I have a 111fd on order and I'd hate it to shed it's bezel onto the equipment and glass TV stand below. BTW, any idea what the bezel weighs?

Sounds like they may have had this before. I mean they decided to replace the power supply without sending out a tech to check it out makes me think this is a known issue to them.

How long have you had your 151?

I got my 151 on January 10th 2009 so have it for little over 2 weeks now. And for the pixel problem, I can firmly say that it is not a pixel issue but rather a crack which has a fluorescent green light bleeding through the panel and crack spans across multiple pixels though it is visible with blue, purple, pink color backgrounds and their respective shades...

It's an extended warranty that starts after the mfg warranty expires. Mine is 4yr + 2yr mfg for a total of 6yrs.

i took a magnifying glass and looked at my screen around where i thought was a stuck pixel and realized that all subpixels (RED, GREEN and BLUE) were lit when i have the related colors feeding the panel. so no pixel issue for sure. i made those poor pixels exercise for at least 20+ hours in last 2 weeks, for no reason, feel like throwing couple gallons of Gatorade for all that hard work for no reason

The bezel popped off?? All by itself???

No way
would I epoxy it. I'd want to keep everything kosher for my warranty coverage, and have Pioneer service deal with it.

NOT a good idea!
If you epoxy it, it very likely will void the warranty some ways, if not the entire warranty. And even if it don't for the entire set, it would for sure in regards to anything where they would have to remove the bezel.

My 111 arrived this morning (thanks, Roman). It is currently playing the slideshow. Only 149 hours left...

Well, I officially have an 111FD on the way, courtesy of Roman
So a plasma newbie question: my current TV stand is a bit rickety, and I'm not putting this TV on it. Anyone know of some decent options available from the big box retailers? I don't need anything fancy, just something compact and sturdy enough to hold it and a few other AV gadgets.

Try Bello Stands

Ghetto rigging a high-end item like an Elite Kuro? No way, man. That's something that Pioneer should be dealing with. And if you do something like that, your dealer and/or Pioneer won't want anything to do with you.

That's why you always use that blue painters tape in situations like this. It won't leave any residue when you remove it like Duct Tape does!

Well, after almost putting an additional 1000 hours on my 111FD since D-Nice intially calibrated it, I decided, along with his recommendation, that it was time for him to come back and give my 111 its periodic touch up/ re-calibration.

What it ended up needing was more of a "re-hual" as D put it, rather than just some minor tweeking. This of course was not unusual since all displays over time, depending on how often there used, drift away from there calibrated state.

So if you want to preserve the accuracy of the initial calibration, IMO then, getting a re-cal on your panel is a must! And of course D-Nice, as he did once before, did a killer job bringing my 111 back to perfection!

As they say, the proof is in the pudding...

Welcome 42041. I look forward to your opinions of past reviewed BD's in the BD forum, as I assume you will be watching a good portion of them all over again.

So D-Nice...when are swinging by my place to calibrate my TV? San Antonio.

No seriously...how much do these calibrations usually cost?

Watched Wall-E and Hellboy last night after receiving my blu ray player. There is a permanent jaw imprint on the floor. Thanks alot Roman.
