My wife is actually the reason I went with the 151FD instead of the 6020 or even some other brand.
Month's before our purchase, she would suffer going into BB with me on occasion to look at TV's and such. She was more or less ho-hum about it all. One day we happened to be on the other side of town where our local Tweeter is located. I suggested it might be fun to go in and take a look. She really did not want to go into a dedicated A/V store, saying she would be bored out of her mind, and besides, "it was too expensive".
Shortly after we arrived, she wandered over to where they had a 150 on display. They had it set up well and it was showing a beautiful picture feed from a BD player. She was in awe...and she was hooked.
In the months that followed, every time I wavered and suggested a less expensive set, she nixed the idea. She said if it couldn't give her the picture she saw over in Tweeter's, then "what's the point"?
Last night she watched some of the Deadliest Catch with me (unusual as she doesn't like my "guy" shows). Some of the scenery was spectacular. At one particularly beautiful scene, she just became unglued over the PQ.
When I tell her that once we get a BD player in the house and once we get the display ISF calibrated, she may like the PQ even better. She just can't believe it, but she also can't wait. Amazing how our significant other can become our biggest supporter in these types of decisions. Gives us validation that maybe we do know what we're talking about once in awhile.
