I recently had to do this for a 151 replacement of a not-two-year-old dead 150 from Pioneer. It was easy and strightforward, I just have move some "delicate" items to reach the AC cord on my TV.

Ok. Then I'll do it and see what happens.

Got it back about a month ago. BUT, the 8 red blinking lights came back on again. Unplugged it and plugged back in. Works fine. Wonder how long it will last this time. Has anyone else had this recurring problem?

Not that I recall (as reported here on the threads anyway). Have you called Pioneer to let them know it happened again?

First, troubleshoot the power. Is the outlet working/circuit fuse blown? If run through a power center, is that working, or did it blow a fuse? I'd unplug the 111FD while checking all this.

Once you know you're working with a functional outlet, plug the TV back in. Do you get the red STANDBY light? Try turning it on. If it works and you know it wasn't an external problem (a blown fuse somewhere), perhaps the panel overheated. If it won't turn on, you obviously need to call for service.

D thanks for your help. Of course I know that I should call Pioneer but they are closed. I thought maybe someone would be kind enough to give me a little help. Not be a smart .

No one here is trying to be a smart ass. You said that your display was dead. That means you actually checked the power outlet, cord, circuit breaker, etc., to no avail. If that is the case, I do not see how anyone on this forum can help you beyond recommending you call Pioneer. But what do I know

I have not posted to this forum for over a year because of what happened tonight. All I wanted was some help. When I first joined this forum everytime I posted I would always get a smart answer from some. Just like the person tonight. Prog and a couple others were always helpful. So again I will go and look for answers and help at a more friendly place.

You are getting upset because you did not like the advise I gave you? Ok, good luck on your quest to find a satisfying answer. When you come full circle and figure out that you actually need to contact Pioneer, I hope you remember my original suggestion... which was not anything beyond the appropriate advice.

Yeah, that would suck. Did they tell you what the problem was and/or what they fixed/replaced?

I had my new Elite 101 calibrated by D-Nice on Saturday and am very impressed with his calibration knowledge and ability to pull the best out of my display. While I am not extremely knowledgeable of calibration details, he took the time to walk me through each of the reports (before and after) and answered all my questions.

He set up ISF day and night as well as a black & white source. Additionally, he tweaked the set ups of my video sources to ensure optimum performance. I couldn't be happier with the end result and am still finding myself saying WOW with the display.

And he is a true gentleman to work with. If you need your Elite (or any other for that matter) calibrated and live in the southeast, I highly recommend him.

Thanks for your calibration report. I've included it in the flat panel (Post#2) lists that are linked at the bottom of my post.

I had my Kuro FD111-PRO calibrated by D-Nice and like you I couldn't be any happier. He is definitely the best!! every time I watch my TV I find myself marveling at the preciseness of the whites and all the colors.
Just great!

The best money I ever spent.

So my elite is still under warranty. This has happened once or twice before, but this morning the TV's blue light was flashing in intervals of 10 on several different occasions. this happened when I tried to switch from one a/v output to another. I have the tv hooked up to my fios box. One last thing. For a few seconds before the lights started flashing, I notice that while after I hit the a/v button, I still got a little bit of sound form the a/v selection I was leaving while the screen was black. It was almost as if the TV was trying to swicth couldn't and was resetting itself.

Thoughts.

Per the manual...

Why does the blue power light on my flat panel display blink?
The panel's internal protection circuit may have been activated for some reason. First turn the panel's a off, wait
one (1) or more minutes, then turn it back on. If the light still blinks, unplug the power cord from the outlet. Plug
in the panel again after one to two minutes. If this fails to solve the problem, contact your dealer or Pioneer

A few months ago I noticed a red glow along the bottom edge of my 111 which I bought Fall of '08. Don't know if I'm getting more sensitive to it or if it's getting worse. I'm playing a new video game called Limbo which is black and white and very dark, and the bottom edge of the picture has a noticeable red tint to it. The game is on an XBOX 360, but my PS3 (which I use mainly as a Blu-Ray player) exhibits the same glow (they are on separate HDMI inputs). Any body else experiencing this, or any suggestions?

I just got my Pro-101FD from BestBuy and packaging looks different when I compare it to my year old PRO-151FD. Once you pull the big cardboard box out, only thing I see is that monitor sits on big cardboard/foam tray, back side of the bottom is surrounded by foam packaging and the whole monitor is covered with plastic type material but did not come with any cardboard protecting top or two sides. Monitor just had that plastic type material covered and then big cardboard covering whole tray. I verified panel, there are no cracks of any kind and turned on and ran some break-in slides via laptop. I was surprised that there were no cardboard panels on top and two sides. Is that a normal packaging for 101? I think I should network 101 and use Kuro reader to check the hours, I am assuming to check hours I should be looking at "Service Info" tab correct?

Yes, it's normal. The 50" panels aren't packaged nearly as securely as the 60" ones.

When turning on of a 9g elite for the 1st time should one see the for home or retail use picture?

I don't remember seeing home or retail option. Pretty positive, I think now I definitely need to check hours.
My thoughts exactly, there was no home or retail use picture when I 1st turned it on.

Need to check hours to make sure this is actually a new in box pro 111 but don't know how to do that, some have said from reading other post that you need special tools to do it.
