Questions about HDMI and RCA connections for my Pio Elite Kuro PRO-151FD.

I have Comcast Triple-Play with a Comcast HD cable box. I have 3 RCA wires coming out of my cable box plugged into the left side of the Kuro and one HDMI wire coming from the cable box plugged into the left side of the Kuro as well. I thought with HDMI it carries both the audio and sound through. Why are the 3 rca cables there? Are they necessary and can I try seeing if the tv works with the rca cables unplugged? I won't do any damage will I?

Also, D-Nice said in another thread that Pioneer do internal processing in RGB.
So in this case is better to set RGB 16-235 HDMI color space in BD player with Pioneer Kuro?

The RCA cables are unnecessary. You can safely remove them.

WHITE BALANCE SHIFT ?

I have a PRO-101 that was calibrated 2.5 years ago. It seems to need a little more high red and less high blue than before. Typically do these sets show a pattern in WB shift over time?

ps: And why can't we title our replies anymore ?????

I have a Pro-111FD. Can I get a 6020 calibrated to be close to it?
I read that D-Nice and others said that the Pioneer Kuro's do their processing or sampling in RGB. Is it RGB 16-235 or RGB 0-255? So I would assume it's best to set my bd player to either RGB the Kuro samples in for the least amount of processing and mucking around? I want to use the 'Source Direct' feature on my bd player so there's the least amount of processing involved.

I was told over on another website forum that in order for the Kuro display to accept snd lock in RGB 16-235 from the bd player you need to set the Pio Kuro display to Color Space 3.

To assign the type of digital signal, follow the steps below.
1 ) Access the Option through the Setup.
2 ) Select HDMI Input from the Option menu.
3 ) Select Video from the submenu.
4 ) Select the type of digital video signal recommended for the attached device. Color 3

You can get it to calibrate identical to your Elite if you swap out the audio board. If you are interested I have them for sale, PM me for more info.

Thanks! Does anyone know the product number for the table top stand for the Pro-111fd? I lost mine and there are so many Pioneer stands with different product numbers; it gets confusing. I've spent an hour researching.

KRP-TS02 Should work for it, since it works for the Pro-101FD. Best Buy has them on sale for a whopping two dollars each, if you want to tell me your zip code I can point you to a store that has stock (quite a few still do).

Really??? Wow that's good news lifesaver. I called Pioneer and they charge by piece now. I asked her to stop at $6 for a screw. Thank you!!!! My zipcode is 91602.

If best buy is out of stock I bought a KRP-TS02 from eBay for $25 for my 5020 E-Lite.

They are hard to find & if you can find one they are $300 & up. I bought a KRP-TS01 off eBay for $50 for my 141, but I got lucky. I don't use the stands my displays are wall mounted. I use the stand to rest them on when I pull them down for various reasons.

I could only find one after searching for hours. Vanns had it for $49.95 shipped. It's on it's way. Forget about Pioneer..I called and they told me they wanted $6 for the screws. They sell each part as an individual piece and build the stand from there.

Hello To All, I have a Pro 101FD. I read the post from switch998 regarding the Krp- Ts02 stands that BB has for 2 dollars, is this true? I would love to get a replacement at this crazy price. I'm in zip code 11377- NY area. If you could let me know if any BB stores in my area have any, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank You!

Did you get this fixed?

Why would somebody want to change the password i have no idea. This is why you can't share stuff with others.

Saw someone curious about a 151 stand. I've got one that's never been used.

When my 151 is off for a long while there's a red light that comes from one of the chip boards behind the panel. Is this normal?
Probably. Are you sure that:

- The light is not -always- on?
- The light does not come on just a few seconds after you turn off the set?

If you're sure of the above, then could you tell us:

- In which area of the back panel is the light located?
- How long is "a long while"? A few minutes, hours or days?

Honestly i don't remember. But i also don't remember that light coming on.

The light is on right now and i just turned it on then it changed to green. As soon as i turned it off the light came back on. I remember a few weeks back i did the same thing but the red light stayed off when i turned the TV on and off.

It's towards the middle of the panel a little to the right above the AC outlet.

Dan.

Don't really know but it came on immediately this time.

That sounds like perfectly reasonable behavior.

Casual observation and memory can often play nasty tricks. Also, since the light is inside the set, it may not be visible from some angles. I wouldn't worry about it. If you're really curious, you could check it from time to time to see if the behavior really changes.

It's normal operation

Well the light is off now. The TV has been off all day. Good to hear that this is normal. I just got worried seeing a red light coming from the chip board. I love this TV way too much. I don't know what i would do if something were to actually happen (knock on wood). There's no display out there that, to me, matches the image the kuro gives.

Pretty much a given as to what the replacement would be, a 2013 Panasonic, possibly their final year of production (deja vu!).

I would definitely go with a Panasonic VT50 (65") if my PRO-151 met its demise.

What's this about 2013 possible being Panasonic's last year of production? I never read anything about that.

R&D is ceasing, hopefully they manage to push through until at least 2014 when OLED will be in wider availability.
Where did you find that information? I'd like to read more about this.
The source currently escapes me, but I'm fairly confident it was somewhere in this giant thread (but closer to the end): http://www.avsforum.com/t/1422082/what-can-we-expect-from-2013-panasonic-plasmas

Well, my memory apparently failed us. Pulling the plug on R&D is under consideration: http://www.japantimes.co.jp/text/nb20121218a4.html
