So theoretically, these TVs should be able to tune in just about anything. But your provider has very likely seen to it that they don't. I really hate the cable company...."Hey, why use the tuner in your new $6500 TV when you can use our Motorola POS-HD??"

I'm going to take the silence as no one has done any solid testing of 151's upconverting capabilities. I did read D-nice mention earlier that he would get an oppo to output 480i and have the kuro take care of the rest...I am assuming having the ps3 output @ 480p would have a similar effect unless for some reason the ps3 deinterlaces horribly. But comparing the two....it does seem like the Kuro does a better job to my untrained eyes. Both method do look good regardless.

A while back I took some comparison pictures of the 6020 in a dark room. I was asked to do the same for the 151.
So here the are.

What is wrong with the site? This thread should have about 118 pages - I hit refresh, and it shows 102?

This post should not be on page 102. It appears that all posting history has been deleted back to August 1st or 2nd in many threads.

"AVS Forum Community:
On the morning of August 11, AVS Forum suffered a major failure in the database and backup storage. As such, we have no choice but to recover from August 2nd.

This represents tens of thousands of lost posts and new threads for the last week. There is nothing we can do about it at this time but move forward. We are sorry about the loss and will work to be sure this does not happen again. We are as upset about this as you may be, more than likely even more.

Regretfully,

AVS Forum"

Looks like they lost everything that was posted after they implemented the major software update on Saturday August 2, 2008. Fortunately, they are not in the banking business.

What is the weight rating on your stand, it looks like it is bowing a lot. Maybe its just the picture.

On one of his recent posts, the ones that were crashed/lost, Chadmak09 said D-Nice submitted his review of the 111 and it was so good, it crashed the database. And now this...hmm? As Yogi Berra would say-' It's deja vu, all over agian'.

Side note- I went to the flat panel shoot out on 7/18 and regardless of who wasn't there, the 111 was clearly the best. It was demonstrated with the test patterns and solidified by the preview of the upcoming Godfather BD. But, even without the test patterns, just looking at it and almost right away, the 111 was the best and by far. It was that simple and decisive. This is coming from a person, who,at the time was actively looking to make a purchase of a brand new plasma. I really wanted the Panasonic and Samsung to do better. So to me it was a battle for second place and these feelings were shared by fellow attendees. This is not a bad thing cause, the Pioneers do carry a hefty price tag and because of this, it's not for everybody.

But afterwards when I got a chance to talk to D-Nice and pick his mind, it was pretty much a done deal. All I would like to say is it's all D-Nice's fault-here I was ready to cheap out and go for screen size and the Pioneer/Plasma Yoda(that's what Robert and I call you)-D-Nice drops some serious knowledge on us. I really had fun and I learned so much from you.

D-Nice, you are a really cool guy and you know a little something..maybe, about the Pioneers too(j/k). Thank You so much for everything, but most importantly, keeping it real!!!. And if you come back to the NY, give me a holla!

D-nice,

Any eta on the review?

I asked this late last night, and apparently it bit the dust in the crash. Has anyone figured out a way to see the hours/usage of our new 9Gs?
D-Nice,
I heard that you finished your 111 review and when you posted it, it was so awesome that it crashed the entire forum and thats why so many posts were lost..
Is this true??

Sorry for the delay. As I stated before, my daughter was sick (family first). You guys have my word that the 111FD review wil be posted this week.....with a very high probability of it being late tomorrow evening.

Again, my apologies for the delays.

I noticed the 141 is up on Pioneers website, any info on when these will be hitting the streets? They have a suggested retail of $7000, they deffinetly make it sound worth it in their description. I'm trying to decide if i should exchange or return my 151 for the third time because of the extreme buzz. I cant decide if its worth dealing with the buzz to have this amazing picture or if i should get the new 65" panny next month. A technician from Pioneer is supposed to be calling me to talk about the problem today.

I am now EXTREMELY happy with my 151. I was using the reference settings prior and as I liked the display it seemed muddy and bit green to me. After UMR was done with my set . I must say it really is an amazing display . The color and depth is now more in line with what I expected from a set of this caliber.

On a slightly different topic he also did my audio while here. Let me tell you the difference in Audio is night and day. The difference in my audio system is even more then the video. I have a Denon 5308ci and Def Tech speakers

I can't thank UMR enough for bringing my video and audio to life.

Those on the fence about using UMR get off he is the real deal and its worth every penny in my opinion

That's great! I have similar equipment to yours and would love to do that, but unfortunately, he doesn't go everywhere. I wish I knew how to tell if somebody local was any good....

Coincidence? Maybe you just didn't want to have to catch up? JK. Hope you had a great Hawaiian honeymoon. Congrats, Roman.
