Well I havent been working on the theater mainly because I am going to CV this year and have been working on finishing the droid before then. Give you an idea of what I have been doing in the mean time.

Have fun at CV and nice R2 unit! I am guessing fully operational? Is that Red Leader's R2?

HOW IN THE HECK DID I MISS THIS THREAD! AWESOME IDEA! Good to see a fellow Star Wars nut. My wife axed the Star Wars themed HT. My Lifesize Vader gets to be in the HT but all of my other stuff will be in a seperate room. I have been working on a Chewbacca costume. Working on my HT has hindered that.
I can't wait to see your finished HT.

That R2 unit has a bad motivator.

Well the Wife Wants the Theater completed this winter, so Off I go, working full force ahead.
Back wall completed and ready for paint.
i will still need to rig the lights and acrylic set up behind the "tablets"

I have been deciding whether I will have a space scene or blue prints in the spaces on the right and left?

Now off to the side walls.

My vote would be for the blueprints.

I vote space scenes

I vote for flat panel displays monitors, so you can have whatever you want, whenever you want. Prices are dropping...

Full steam ahead on the main wall this week!

Impressive. Most impressive. And Kudos to the wife for getting you back to this awesome build! I've been following this thread and am eager to see the finished product. Glad you revised the frame, the original was hindering the view, new one is much better suited. Well done.

My vote is for A. Keep up the good work!

Tough choice but B does it for me. What does the builder prefer?
great idea for a theater....cant wait for more pics
post #167 of 289
Something tells me you are very particular and already know what you like (I see you redid the frame for the AT-AT). I would go with 'b' because 'a' is too much of cliché.

B and making it so that a screen saver or something comes up on the TV completing the panoramic image.

Im on my way!
I will take some nicer pics when its painted needed to cast more for the trench wall also under the tv I will be putting the EFX Studio Scale xwing in a trench run environment as well. I thought about putting the star destroyer though it wont fit. A couple areas I need to make some doors on the front where the drill and opposite. I also will need to have a drop door for access for the drain if i ever need it.

Very nice work. I have quietly been building my own Star Destroyer theater. It will also house my collection. Mine is very different, but I like many of your elements. I look forward to seeing it finished with the collection in place.

Awesome droid too. I have always wanted to build one, but I never have had the money to get started.

Not really. It is part of a full basement finish. The theater is the last room to finish. Right now I have carpet and walss, but that is about it. I will try and start a thread over Christmas break. Hopefully I will have more finished by then. I did get my Epson 8700 over the weekend, but I don't have my screen up yet.
