I showed him the couple problems im having with my set...
1. Horrible IR (settings are not vivid or high at all) and my sets almost a year old
2. A white light is shining through the panel on the whole left side and it stick out almost 4 inches on the top left. Ruins dark experiences
3. I have the green sparkles bad in black places and everything looks fuzzy

So he came out and made a verdict that he wants to replace the whole panel. Everything but the power supply and main board(A/V board i think). So my question is....is that right or seem right? I mean thats like a new tv almost.

You didn't say what TV you have.

Is it covered under warranty? If not I'd just get a new TV.

You might want to purchase a Repairmaster warranty - i think they'll still let you buy it up to 3 months before the factory warranty expires.

Whats the # for them. I was going to call CPS tomorrow or today to see if they would still let me do it. CPS gets a lot of good talk on here but i've never heard of Repairmaster? Any good?

Warrantech/Repairmaster is ok, they've been around a while and i was able to buy their warranty when my old 42PX50U was almost 9 months old (from Chris at Cleveland Plasma). The other warranty companies only give you 30 days to buy it. My local Authorized Panasonic repair center also does work for several warranty providers and said they're ok to deal with.

Do you have a warranty through them right now or did you ever have to use it? Im just weary about buying from someone i've never heard or read about ya know.

Warrantech has been around for many many years. There are numerous extended warranty threads on the various AVS forums and i've seen all the warranty companies discussed a lot so if you search for some keywords you should be able to find some info.

I have a Warrantech Repairmaster warranty that i bought from Chris at Cleveland Plasma for my old TH-42PX50U, and i have a Mack warranty that i bought from Chris at MountAVision for my newer TH-42PZ700U. I have never needed to use either one (yet) but basically they have the same terms as the factory warranty, and they typically use the same authorized contracted repair centers that the TV's manufacturers do, and from the repair center's viewpoint it's just a matter of the warranty company paying the bill instead of the manufacturer. Several years ago i had a Repairmaster warranty on my $1,000 Sony Trinitron tube TV and they paid for two separate repairs from my local Sony repair shop. I called them when my TV screwed up and they gave me the names of some local shops. I paid $125 for the warranty and got almost $500 in repairs so this warranty paid off bigtime.

Contact either of the guys i mentioned above and ask them about Warrantech's customer service, but from everything i've read and heard there should be no problem dealing with them if the TV goes belly up.
