Nice tip for $6.99! I checked my local BB on Los Feliz (in Los Angeles) and it showed stock online, printed up the page showing the price and went down. The sale price wasn't noted on the shelf or the case, and there were 2 pcs left (now 1), but luckily it ringed up @ $6.99, so no need to flash my printed web page

BTW, the movie is suppose to be good.

Not less than 19.99, but Best Buy will give you a $5 dollar cinema now card with The Crazies, which is $19.99.

Is that something that is part of the Planet Earth set, or is it 'in addition to' the PE set?
TIA

Discovery sells individual PE discs in addition to the complete set. This is just one disc from the set.

For those subscribed, there's also a 10% coupon effective 6/30 that can be used. It'll have to go under the YMMV banner because technically the coupon should be 10% off of the regular price. However, I've always gotten it off of the lowest sale price.

No, Best Buy will always price match their own website, in my experience. One of my favorite things to do is to load up the web page on my phone and have the product waiting for them to cut down on the time it would take them to look things up themselves (they're super, super slow about that for some reason).

I had no problem getting BestBuy to price-match their online price for 'Minority Report' in-store. My local BnM wasn't even listed as having the title in stock for pick-up, but I found it there on the shelf anyhow. Thanks for the heads-up!

I think I heard that the Best Buy system won't show stock at any given store if the stock is like less than 3 or something like that.
This is to help counter act against customers buying off the shelf.
For example, you may look up a title and it says 1 availabal at your store.
If there really was just 1 available, and minutes after you ordered it, someone walked in off the street and buys it... then you go to the store to pick up your order and there is no order to be had.
So, they pad the system so that the website shows none being in stock at your store, when if fact there could be a few there.
So, if it's worth the trip to you, it's always worth checking at the actual B&M store to see if there may be some there.
Of course there's always the chance that they really are totally out of stock, and thus the trip would be wasted.

They should just change the name from Best Buy to YMMV.
"Welcome to YMMV, how may we screw you over today?"

Call the BestBuy store and have them confirm that it is in stock "physically" before going there...that is what I do.

It is my experience that once you place an online order, it is sent to the store where someone goes and pulls the item. At that point, once the item is pulled and reserved for you, BB emails you to confirm that the item is ready for pickup. I have never been told that an item is out of stock once I received the ready for pickup email. As always, YMMV.

I have. I bought Pinnochio online with instore pickup when it first came out. Received my confirmation email and my email saying that the movie had been pulled and was ready for pickup. I printed my email and went immediately to the store where I was told that they didn't have it. I asked to speak to the manager and he apoligized but said they didn't have any more. I showed him my email that said my copy had been pulled and he just apoligized again. I persisted and finally he went and gave me one that had been pulled for someone else. I finally got it but it took me about 45 minutes and obviously the person whose movie they gave to me ended up getting a raw deal.

...so yes, YMMV.

For Borders Rewards members.

The sad thing is that the Borders "regular price" is often actually higher than MSRP, so "50% off" yields prices that are often no better than Amazon and other online retailers. You can sometimes find good deals on catalog titles, but YMMV a lot.

I'm finding discounted Animal Planet and Discovery Channel titles in the movie racks at Ross, which is a discounted surplus retailer, for about $5 as well as the whole range of A/V cables from HDMI to RCA composite for Monoprice-esque prices.
