All I know is when I ordered Transformers from Tower....I received it within a few days - standard shipping. Let's see what happens with Godfather.

On Line the new releases range from 23.99-25.99.

And in store they have a promo, buy two save five dollars.

I picked up four of them, brought them to the customer service desk and asked them to match their online prices. They did and then took 2.40 or 2.60 off each.

I got

Love Guru and Speed Racer for 23.40 each and Made of Honor and 88 Minutes for 21.60 each.

Pretty slick for retail new releases.

No disrespect but $5 off 2 movies doesn't seem like a good sale to me even if they are new releases. If it was $5 off each movie then at least that something. I'm in no hurry to buy movies i'll wait until i can get them for $15.

I agree, 5 dollars off two movies is not a good deal. But, when you combine that with the online sale, it makes it a pretty good deal on brand new releases that you could pick up in a retail store. I don't mean to disrespect you, but when was the last time you've priced new release blu rays in a retail store. They sell for 30-35 dollars, so the movies I listed are at least 6 dollars off.

Which for some of us makes rental, not purchase the preferred model for new releases.

With that said, I've been following this thread for quite a while hoping I'd find something that I didn't already own on SD-DVD and has a somewhat reasonable price.

Any deals on Sex and the City. Mjentertainment doesn't seem to list it yet. Tower has it for $21.86 + s/h.

amazon has "The Proposition" for $10.99.. Now that is more of a deal.. The reviews on the quality and story are good as well..

I see T:2 on Amazon for $12 but that doesn't put you over the $25 mark...
I'd avoid T2 until a proper audio track comes out. But if those that have a non-HDMI via audio receiver don't plan on updating then go on ahead.

That's pretty much regular price now. Even in Canada the first wave of Lionsgate releases are all that cheap.

Well it is more I need something to bundle with "The Proposition" for $10.99.. I know the weakness of the audio but have read the review on the audio here..

http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/terminator2.html

The Audio: Rating the Sound

Like the image quality on previous releases of 'T2,' the film always boasted a terrific soundtrack, so the question wasn't whether it was any good but how good? Same goes for this new Blu-ray release, which offers no new real upgrade, instead porting over the Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround EX and DTS-ES Matrixed 5.1 surround tracks from the "Ultimate Edition" DVD release. Still, that's not a terrible thing -- while I would have loved new uncompressed PCM or Dolby TrueHD options, 'T2' still sounds pretty dang good for a 15-odd year-old film.

Again the deal is in "The Proposition", I am up for hearing other ideas for a good movie to bundle with this..

Good choice with The Proposition. I've heard The Fall is pretty much a reference disc (although I'm waiting for the price to drop). Blade Runner is also a pretty good deal.

Well if I could get a title in the $15 to $20 range then you get free shipping and two movies.. that is what I am working with.. T2 doesn't work as well because it keeps me under $25.. Need order over $25 to get free shipping with Amazon.

I like The Fall as well.. but listed @ $28, which is just too much.. The other idea was to box it with Kill Bill for $40. But then I am dropping $50, which was more then I set out to do.. I have tower.com locked in with Transformers @ $21.. that is another reference title I like to get. Also SpeedRacer might be the best looking movie out on Bluray so far, but the price is too high.. Anyways that is where I am at..

Blade Runner is a good movie, rented it on Netflix... Again not on sale and isn't really reference quality.. Just a good looking movie for how old it is.. Again if it was on sale I would think about it..

As far as tower shipping..I ordered the 40 yr old Virgin/Knocked Up/Sarah Marshall 3 pack on Wednesday morning, got shipping notice yesterday morning and it is due to be here tomorrow. Not too shabby considering the set isnt due out until the 30th.
Another thing about tower.com. Earlier this week there were a lot of movies to be released in the coming weeks that were listed on their site as "will ship in 12 hours". Today I checked and all those have been changed to pre-orders. Luckily I grabbed a few before they changed it and I'll get them a few weeks before street date.

I show my order of Daredevil shipped today from Tower!!! I ordered Iron at the same time but it doesn't show it has shipped. I bet they shipped together.

I have ordered previously with them and both shipped together even though they provided two separate shipping dates. I ordered Spiderwick and I am Legend at the time.

That's a pretty good deal...If I didn't already have The Mummy movies on HD DVD, I'd pick these up.

I didn't say there was anything wrong with it. Those that have newer receivers that do audio through HDMI would best wait for a re-release with a TrueHD/DTS-HD/Uncompressed PCM track.

And hopefully they'll do the seemless branching for the 3 different versions of the film, ala the DVD that I have.

The UK Blu-Ray has lossless audio, the extended cut, and a picture that is better than the USA release. I just got it for $25 shipped USD from BlahDVD.com. No extras, but I've got the extras disc from the UE so I'm quite happy with it.

Isn't T2 the theatrical version rather than the Director's Cut?
Terminator 2 US Blu-ray is theatrical, UK Blu-ray is Special Edition AKA "Director's Cut".
