Why can't it just be easy?
I don't like the idea of not seeing pricing right in front of me when I purchase my order.
So you guys are saying that you purchased your three Blu Rays from the link above and later you received an e-mail from Amazon that stated they reduced the price to make one of the movies free??
Right now I have Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull = $26.95.
American Gangster = $20.95.
Iron Man Ultimate Two Disc Edition = $27.95.
$54+ is a whole lot better than $75.85 would be.

I guess i will have to email them again.... i only got my confirmation order number... Thanks for your advices and i will keep you post!

Why the heck don't they simply fix the store rather than having to send in an email to customer service?

I'm totally ready to jump on this but it's BS that we have to jump through these hoops to get the discount.

if they "fix it", you can be sure that it will just be a limited selection of titles, rather than pretty much any blu-ray at amazon. it takes less than 30 seconds to send them an email about it, and they've been very responsive so far.

i just placed my third and fourth orders about ten minutes ago.

My guess is their losing alot of money on this deal especially with the preorder blurays. If They corrected it and put it up for every body to see then everybody who got a computer and blu ray player would be ordering movies instead fo people like us who check forums like avs or dvdtalk for deals.

You have to email them about it. They aren't just going to send you an email discount of their own accord.


If it comes down to having to send one email and getting a reply within 15 minutes, or having it be easier but having a limited selection of titles (not new releases and not any title I want) then I'd rather jump through this small hoop. All of the other B2G1Fs over the past few months have been for titles I couldn't care less about.

They gave it to me for ordering 3 sets of The Ultimate Matrix Collection. E-mail response took awhile. Time to try a few more times.

Ordering multiples of a title is usually the thing that sets of a flag somewhere, resulting in a deal getting pulled.

Hmm, I hope that is not true.

I did place 4 other orders and received a response within an hour along with the discount.

Instead of whining, realize that we are exploiting Amazon---this is not a legitimate deal.

I ordered
Kill Bill + God Father + Oceans 13 and got the last one free. I know what your thinking but I had allready put the order in and didn't feel like canceling and redoing it. Besides the only other sets I can think of I don't have allready but want are the Bond ones and I am all about instant gratification.

It's very unfortunate that we have to jump through all of these hoops & inconveniences just to get a good deal. Being in the economic state we're in, where every company needs to capitalize on profits, they should be making things ten times easier for the consumer to spend money, not ten times more difficult. The silly thing is, it's not that difficult to do, but it requires someone intelligent enough within the organization to recognize it.

It appears as though the execs at Amazon & CH are still asleep behind the wheel.

So if you order 6 at once you get the 2 cheapest for free as per a regular b2g1 free deal?

And it works on everything (all movies, pre-orders etc.)?

bTW, how do you search BR titles by price? I want to get Planet Earth, Band of Brothers and another similarly priced title...

Yes, it works on pre-orders. I did it for 15 movies. But I was afraid they would just take the five cheapeast movies if I didn't pre-group them, so I ordered them in five separate orders.

If they made it easier, there'd be no deal. I don't think you understand what's taking place here.

Why would you say that? They sent out the email - I got it yesterday. And nowhere does it qualify that certain titles are eligible or exempt. In fact, the link from the email takes you to a page that says only, "For every two Blu-ray titles purchased, get a third one free when you add them all to your Shopping Cart." That 's followed by a single link that says "Go to the Blu-ray store." That implies that ALL titles in their Blu-ray store are in the promotion. I don't see how that's exploiting them.

Exactly. I've successfully done this on three separate orders by emailing customer service. I'll be interested to see if this lasts through Monday without a change or dropping the deal entirely.

Amazon advertised a B2G1 Free deal. Simple. However, the deal isn't working (if you read the last 2 pages of the thread, you'd know this).

These people who tried to get in on the deal are having to send emails & make phone calls just to get the advertised deal.

So take your condescending attitude somewhere else. These types of attitudes & behavior are a big part of what this place has become recently.

Has anyone who placed an order this morning received an email back today? I placed my order right before 10 am and emailed them right afterward but have not received anything back yet.

Yes, I placed my 5 orders between 1-3 eastern, sent separate emails for eachone, and got a reply around 3:30 that addressed all five orders.

Amazon INADVERTENTLY advertised a B2G1 deal via Email. Yes, big companies make mistakes. They would have never intended for people to get B2G1 on ANY BD purchases. That's why the deal doesn't happen automatically on the web page. It was an error that many companies would have just not honored. We are using the CSR's to get credits when common sense tells us that we shouldn't get them. When the first few people tried the deal and saw it wasn't working, that should have been it. No deal But, some of us look for ways to get deals regardless. In this case, it takes some work (which you seem opposed to) to do it.

Condescension is not the problem. The problem is with people that don't think first, act like they have things owed to them, and don't want to put any effort in.

The deal is still being advertised on their website. Nobody here is looking for a handout, we're expecting the company to be responsible for what it advertises. There isn't anything expressly written that's limiting the deal to a specific selection. But you're proving my point for me. These conversations we're having about this Amazon promotion certainly aren't positive, but positive is what our economy needs right now. This particular situation is going in the wrong direction.

Where is the email address you're supposed to send a note to (or does that come with your order)?
