Well a heads up for Canadian users. Futurama: Bender's Game is now only $26.99 at Future Shop. Cheaper then Amazon.com and almost $10 cheaper then when it was released.

STILL trying to get a copy of Wall-E from DeepDiscount with the 25% off promotion. They still have it listed as a pre-order even though it is 11/18/08 in their time zone. Shouldn't this be automatically done by their computer system?

I also had several Blu-ray discs in my cart there ready to buy them when Wall-E was available. Since DD decided to raise the prices on those movies while I was waiting, I will now be buying 3 instead of 7 movies. Some profit is better than NO profit DD. BAD FORM changing the prices DURING the sale.

It shouldn't change over on their serverss till 2 or 3 am. It waits until the whole country is pass midnight and all time zones are in the same day. Try then and it should be updated. At least in theory it should be.

make sure to check your actual cart, this happened to me last week with sukiyaki western django. It was listing preorder on my wish list but when i went to check out it was listed as in stock

As with some other sites too, the prices on Tower.com seem to fluctuate more than the stock market. Having said that, who knows when this price will change...

Akira Kurosawa's Samurai 7 - The Complete Series (Blu-Ray)
$50.86 (49% off !!!!!!!!!!)
Release date: 01/20/09

DvdPriceSearch.com doesn't even have this title in their system yet, so I really don't know how well this price compares to other places. I would think that 49% off for a pre-order is pretty damn good though.

Thanks for the replies re: Wall-E @ DD guys.

Yes, I have been checking inside the cart where it still says pre-order. It is now 3:01 Eastern time and will go check again...

I go to DD.com and Wall-E is STILL a pre-order. I do a search for it again and it comes up as it normally would. I go into the description page where there is no mention of pre-order. So, I think maybe delete it from my cart and re-add it... so I did. STILL says pre-order in my cart and no discount for Wall-E

Agree. DVDPlanet did the same thing last week. Kicked up prices on quite a few titles anywhere from $2 to $5 mid-sale.

As of 4am EST, you can now add 11/18 releases to DD cart and get the 25% May have to delete from cart and re-add (I had to). I also had to refresh the item page before selecting to buy it for the pre-order date to go away and it to show in stock.

Save your money. Wall-E sucked. It was incredible boring. Great animation but I almost couldn't stay awake in it. A real dissappointment.

I find it so damn hilarious when people try to pass off their opinions as facts when VERY popular opinion is so vastly different.

Hey, it happens. Look at, say, Shoot 'Em Up.

Hmmm...neither BB nor CC seem to have really good deals on Wall-E or Tropic Thunder, at least not online, but I have this $10 CC gift card I need to use...

Mods, please clean this up again. This thread is not for your opinions on movies. We go here to see what the deals are not if you think a movie sucks. Go to the particular movie thread to add your opinions.

Well, it looks like I can FINALLY add Wall-E to my cart @ DD for the 25% discount. However, now it says out-of-stock .
I will just bite the bullet and have the wife pick it up from the store today. I am NOT waiting two weeks for DD to get their act together.
This instance has also pushed me to buy NOTHING from DeepDiscount. Kinda wanted the Planet Of The Apes Blu-ray boxed set... oh well. I don't need to spend the money right now anyway. Thanks DeepDiscount .

They have 2 versions of Wall-E.
The 2-disc is In Stock and the other is not.

btw:
$68 for Planet Of The Apes Blu-ray boxed set can't be beat by anyone right now.

The 3 disc is only like 13 cents more... a no brainer.

Not being able to add Wall-E to cart even when on release day = bad service.
Raising prices DURING the sale = bad service.
Being out of stock ON release day = bad service.

Bad sevice = no deal, wether it IS a deal or not (IE: PotA BR) . Eventually that bad service will work it's way down the chain to the customers/consumers. Not an experience that wish to encounter. The easy fix is to stay away.

Wall-E 3 disc set at Target for $24.99. Is that the Best local store price?

http://www.target.com/dp/B001EOQWFI/...Awall-e&page=1

Or Wally World for $24.86

Target and Walmart will not match their websites. It's stupid but they stick to their policies. Take a print out to Best Buy and they will usually match it.

Yup. I was going to hold off on Planet of the Apes, but for 68, it's a great deal. Even if Amazon does a special on this, I can't see it being much lower. Works out to be less than $14 per movie. If they ever do a complete remaster, I'll buy the first one again.
