Not really a "fire" sale. They've been that low before, they are just giving us their best reductions. No liquidations of stocks, because a format, product is being discontinued. Still good to see lower prices on some blus!

I don't understand why sorting by price low to high doesnt work on Amazon. I went to the list of 19 pages where there are blu-rays as low as 5.95 and sorted by price, and the first title I got was 11.99.

The sort-by-price function uses the lowest price available including the resellers (used or new), not just the Amazon-direct price.

Thanks for the heads up! I almost bought the Chicago/EWF yesterday when it was $20. Just got my first BD player on Sunday so I'm ordering it now. Too bad I don't want any of those other movies.
I also managed to order Band of Brothers for $42 on Monday, along with T2 for $11 and Ironman for $19.40 from deepdiscount.com. They had a 25% off sale that day.
No that will be like 9$ US or some thing like that. When I buy from amazon.com it is billed to amazon US but ships from amazon Canada. They also still follow the release date for the US so we can get stuff early. I don't know if the reverse is true. It would be good to find out.
So you can open an account in Amazon.ca even when you reside in the US?
You don't even need to do that... your US Amazon account will log in and it will identify that you are in the US and offer international shipping unless you spend a large enough amount to qualify for free shipping.
Have any Canadians ordered from Amazon.com, since they instituted that new charge for cross-border shopping? Just curious about how much the charge worked out to and if they actually charged it, since almost everything ships from Canada anyway?

You can buy from any Amazon country-specific site, as far as I know. I just signed into the UK site and it took my username and password without any registration. I think only the Japan site requires new registration.
Apparantly, the Canadian site requires new registration also, because it will not let me sign in with my .com info... hence why I have the questions. If I could sign in, I would just add the stuff to my cart and check the numbers myself. I'm not going to sign up for a whole new account just to check how much the shipping charges are. That would be... stupid.
I was able to sign-in using my .com account and added your titles .. the shipping ended up to be around $14

As others have said, you can log in to the .ca version with your regular login. And even if you couldn't, you can always just look at their international shipping rates chart in the help section.

Ok, I just tried signing in again and this time it worked. I don't know what was going on before, maybe a page error or cookies error or something.
So anyway, all 4 of those Blu-ray discs are now jacked up with shipping charges to the USA. Giving me a price of $60.20 for all 4 shipped is still not a bad deal, but not near as inticing as before. Will probably pass for now...

Same here. I almost pulled the trigger on the Kill Bills, but the shipping nixed it for me. Oh, well.
