That's the OLD version, hence the lower price.

It looks like it hit $22.99 last week. It sometimes takes their system a few days to update the price on your order page, so it's possible it only showed it after the price had already gone back up.

I will be going to Florida, near Miami.

Thanks.

Each of those stores you listed will have selected titles for $10-14.99.
Most will be catalog titles.
Newer releases will be around $22-29 at those stores.

The Star Trek (2009) hit $22.99 at Amazon on October 19th. At least that's when I pre-ordered it.

I believe the pre-order price dropped to $22.99 last weekend, but then was back up to $27.99.

Wal-Mart stores are hit and miss with Blu-ray titles and I wouldn't expect any concerts. Target seems to have more movies, but I don't remember concerts. Best Buy should have a decent selection of Blu-ray concerts. If there is a Fry's that would be your best bet.

I searched @ Walmart.com for "Stargate 15th Anniversary" and was so happy to see the cheap price, I was blinded to the fact that the search didn't return the correct version.

So sorry to get your (and my) hopes up...

I just pre-ordered The Professional at Amazon for $13.99. This is less than I paid for the DVD version years ago.
Cool, thanks for the advice guys.

Amazon has dropped the price again of Pixar's UP on blu-ray to $22.99.

Buying together with Monsters, Inc. is now down to $37.48.

I was checking out the prices on Bestbuy.com for next week's new releases (11/3) and everything is at $20.99, which is fantastic. But are these deals going to expire 10/31? Meaning, the only way to get these titles for that price is to pre-order?

If so, does the sale also work if you do a pre-order for in-store pickup?
Yes, you can preorder and choose in store pick up on the release date if you want to lock in the sale price.

So those prices are expiring before the actual release date, correct?

At this point I would assume so. For the things Amazon matched, I ordered there because I don't pay sales tax that way. So the only pre-order I ended up doing with Best Buy was for Star Trek because I figure it'll go back to full price Sunday.

UP $22.99 Amazon

Hey, a weird phenomenon happened to me the other day. On the same day that that I noticed Amazon lowered a ton of prices (I saw GI Joe for $20.99 and got really confused, lol), I went to re-order some of my previously existing orders because pre-order price change didn't happen yet, and I noticed that I got an additional 10% off. I then went and re-ordered everything that I plan on ordering through January. Not only did I lock in these great prices from Amazon matching Best Buy, I also got 10% off of everything I'm going to buy for the next 3 months. Here are some great examples:

Rocky 1-6: $47.24 (less than $8 per film)
Mel Brooks 9 Movie Set: $69.29 (less than $8 per film)
Harry Potter 1-6: $69.29 (about $11.50 per film)
Up and Monsters Inc together: $32.73 (like $16 each)
Gone With The Wind UCE: $40.94
Warner new releases like Hangover or Terminator: $16.19 each

It was so weird, as it was only that day (or night I should say, it was very late, maybe 1-2am). The next day a new pre-order popped up that I wanted, but the magical 10% was gone.

And another thing, why is Star Trek (2009) STILL $27.99? BB has had it up for $20.99 all week long, and I saw it at that price on another site as well. What gives? That was the only real dissapointment, in an otherwise wonderful sale opportunity.

I had the exact same thing happen to me at around two in the morning Thursday, and I have no idea why. It was back to normal a few hours later, but I got a ton of preorders cancelled and reordered in that amount of time. I'm glad that I was up late.

How often do they have unadvertised sales in the middle of the night?

GiantChicken,

I don't think it was a deliberate sale, probably more like some kind of accident. It was definately thursday night, and I think we were just in the right place at the right time to capitalize.

This brought back very fond memories of the 10% off all blu-ray / hd-dvd promotion that ran at the start of the formats. That was supposed to only last for a few months, but by some fluke I continued to get the discounts for about 2 years.

I really, really love Amazon. But come on already, lower that price on Star Trek!!!!

If you hit up best buy online and pre-order Star Trek and add on another one of the older films in the current promo you can get Star Trek for 15.99 and the other movie for 12.49 so 28.48 plus tax.

is this new harry potter package are all ultimate editions?

Best Buy has Waterworld for $13.99. Picked up a copy about 20 min ago!
Yea, it's a good deal at Best Buy, but I was just hoping Amazon would match that price cuz then I have the 10% off as well. Also, I already own the first 6 Star Trek blu-rays and I don't care for The Next Generation, so I wouldn't want to pay extra for any of those.

As for the Harry Potter, these are not the Ultimate Editions, but simply a box set of films 1-6 in slim cases. It's got the exact previously released discs for 1-5 and the new double disc release of Half-Blood Prince. I sold my Years 1-5 box and purchased this new one, actually made a couple bucks on the deal.

Here, I will clarify: $21 is fantastic for a new, non-catalogue, release on the release date.

If you're a bargain hunter that is certainly your prerogative but you must not get many titles on release date - which is fine of course if you don't mind waiting. But I don't want to wait.
The Hangover at 17.99 (Amazon)
Inglorious Basterds at 19.99 (Amazon)

Both are showing up as release date arrival for me.

I'm with you, $21 is not fantastic. However for certain movies that finally drop in price I'll spring for them at the price (Bugs Life, Monsters Inc, Up) but they are the exception. And I still don't think the price is great.

I don't have to have on release date.

I know. I was listing movies that I'd recently ordered. I'm pushing the price envelope when I pay that much.
