Yes, but it doesn't always work that way. The price on UP has already changed about 3 times in the last couple of weeks. Do you really want to contact them each time if they don't adjust your price? It's much easier just to wait until after midnight on release day and contact them then if they never adjusted your price.

Someone at Slickdeals got an Amazon CSR to apply the current $10 Disney promo code DISNEYBD to their Monster's/Up order to bring their total down to 12.98. Just sent Amazon an email to see if I can get in on this.

In looking at that it says cannot be combined with any other promotions. I would give it a try but I dont want to mess with the SNOWHITE discount I got.
I saw that as well and I'm skeptical it will work, but who knows. I might get lucky like that other poster at Slickdeals. Doesn't hurt to try.
Well, I give up on the extra $10 discount. Since I purchased Snow White long ago, and between two different Up/Monsters orders I have pending, I have requested such a discount 5 different times, and all 5 times have been flat out denied.

Nice. Ordered Up, Monsters, Inc, and Cars for $42.47.

Presto! Got the DISNEYBD promo. Total for my order is now $9.99. The price for Monster's, Inc. shows up as $19.99 and Up is listed at $9.99 so I think they just took $10 off the price of Up.

Item(s) Subtotal: $29.98
Shipping & Handling: $3.97
Best Value Savings: -$9.99
Promotion Applied: -$10.00
Super Saver Discount: -$3.97
-----
Total Before Tax: $9.99

Grand Total: $9.99

Wow, buying blu-rays is almost like a part-time job! I hope these companies continue to offer discount codes and promotions, even though many of us find the loop-holes in them to get even better deals?

BTW-- Disney's Eight Below blu-ray is $12.99 at Amazon

MONSTERS INC isnt even one of the selectable movies for the DISNEYBD discount. How did you go about getting that to work?

lol Thanks for the heads-up. I swear I've must've placed and canceled my Up/Monsters, Inc. order with Amazon four or five times now. This time I ordered the combo with its $10 off and Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure for another $10 off making the trio $15.49 each.

All I did was ask if they would apply the DISNEYBD promo discount to my Monsters/Up order and they did. I really wasn't expecting them to do it.
I just tried and failed for both of the additional $10 promotions on the Monsters/Up combo. I didn't qualify for either one but figured I would give it a shot. Guess I will cancel and go the Best Buy route and hope for a good Up coupon from Disney.

EDIT -
Before I canceled I tried again, figured it could not hurt...and received an email that they reduced my total by $10! I asked to use DISNEYBD on Monsters and UP.
The only deal breaker for me is I already preordered Up at Best Buy for the Steel book ($7.50 + tax), and I don't know what the Up coupon from Disney is yet. But...I am tired of looking so I think I am done.

I didn't specifically ask about the disney promo, since I didn't know it, I asked for the $10 promo for long time customers (i.e. the snow white thing, but I didn't buy SW from Amazon) and I got this reply

I'm sorry for any misunderstanding. I understand your concern regarding the price for "Monsters, Inc. (4-Disc Edition) [Blu-ray]" and ''Up (4 Disc Combo Pack with Digital Copy and DVD) [Blu-ray]''.

Please be informed whenever you pre-order a book, CD, video, DVD, software, or video game sold by Amazon.com, the price we charge when we ship it to you will be the lowest price offered by Amazon.com between the time you placed your order and the release date.

Since this item has not entered into shipping process, once the item been shipped out we will charge you the lowest price offered by Amazon.com.

Please note that promotional offer of $10 cannot be applied to orders placed with Amazon.com prior to 12a.m. Pacific time, November 3, 2009, or after 11:59 p.m. Pacific time, November 10, 2009. I checked your account and see that you have placed order on October 24

The last paragraph refers to the Disney promo code I believe. The first two refer to my request to update the prices to the lowest.

They are saying I can't have the disney promo unless and I cancel and reorder, but I don't see how I can reorder and get Up/MI (with the original $10 discount) and then get the $10 off for the disney promo. MI isn't included in that promo.

BTW, I still don't understand how you got the Up/MI for $10. I see your figures, but how did you get the sub-total of $29.98 for the two movies? The only way I can get close to that is to apply the original $10 promo and assume the movies for $20 each.

Monsters, Inc. is listed on my order for $19.99. -> not sure why this is not $22.99 as listed on the Monsters web page. New price reduction coming and I got it early?
Up is listed on my order for $9.99. -> presumably from the DISNEYBD promo

$19.99 + $9.99 = $29.98

Discounts I received:
Monsters, Inc. Up combo purchase discount - $10
Snow White Thanks discount - $10
New Disney promo DISNEYBD - $10

You are leading a charmed life. I got the first one, but didn't buy SW from Amazon. I was hoping to get it by asking, but got turned down when they thought I was referring to the disney promo. You got all three. As I understand it, MI isn't eligible for the disney promo, but you got it. I am soooo jealous.

If I resubmit the order for Up & MI, is the combo discount still good? I wonder if I could than ask for the disney promo? I'd be thrilled just to get the two.

You are correct - Monsters, Inc. wasn't eligible for the DISNEYBD discount which is why I was surprised they gave it to me.

It couldn't hurt to try resubmitting your order. You will most definitely still get the standard combo purchase discount plus any price reductions since your original order. After you've placed your order, send them another email and ask for the DISNEYBD discount. Another option would be to add a Disney movie that is eligible for the DISNEYBD discount to your order. It would still be a good deal.

This thread title should be changed to the "Cartoon deal thread".

In non-Pixar news:

Amazon is having one of their "Buy 3 Save $20/Buy 6 Save $50/Buy 10 Save $100" deals.

There are 15 Universal titles to choose from, although none are actually in stock at the moment.

I ordered this morning. The price of the movies have risen $3-$5 since then. Typical Amazon with this type of sale.

Folks check your Quick picks on Amazon Gold Box. I just pre-ordered Terminator Salvation and Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince for 16.14 a piece. They also have Star Trek for under 22 and Galaxy Quest for 18.99. You have to add the movies from this location to get the additional discount.

Are there any web sites that accept the Disney Movie Rewards $8 coupon on Monsters Inc?

I think the reason they applied the disneybd promo to your order is because they felt sorry that your total is equal to what anyone can pay for both movies right now (under the assumption that MI gets reduced to $19.99). The question you should ask yourself is 'why isn't my total $9.98?' considering the base price is $29.98 for both and you have two additional $10 discounts that weren't discounted properly.

As a last step before ordering you might want to check your Gold Box. I did and found Up sitting there. Saved another dollar on top of the Disney promo ...

Nightmare Before Christmas Blu-ray is $15.49 @ Amazon.com right now.

I had been waiting for a good price on it, and finaly broke down and bought a used copy a couple weeks ago for like $16.
This new price is the lowest it's ever been new at any store.

I just called and asked if they would apply the DISNEYBD promo to my UP/Monsters Inc order and they did.....$22.98 for both

Best Buy now has Up on pre-order for 19.99. If you plan on buying locally with Monsters Inc, you may want to pre-order Up now rather than paying 23.99 for it Monday or trying to get them to price match Walmart's price AND get the Monster's Inc $10 off (I'm certain my BBs won't price match and do a promo as it's their policy not to do it).
Sorry if this is a repost, but Amazon lowered the price of the Watchmen Ultimate Edition to $30.99, and that's as low as I've seen it (not counting Walmart's prices which you have to pay shipping, tax, etc, etc).

There is a 30% off Used Blu-rays over at gohastings.com
I've ordered from the and all discs were in great condition. You can find some steals if you look through their selection. Just letting people know.
