Splicer, the TV is on the right input.(my orig post said I can play and watch SD) I can put in a SDDVD and it plays, pop it out, put in HDDVD, watch the "loading" graphics and the spinning disk in the upper right, and then the audio plays but no video. I use the spdif for audio input to my receiver.
Direct connection to HDMI port on TV. Same symptoms. Get SDDVD on the upconvert, but no video for HD.
A3 is set to 1080i output. TV is recognizong 1080i input on both SD and HD. It is just HD DVD's that show no video.
Did direct hookup of component cables. I can watch SD and HD. TV recognizes 1080i on both and shows video.
That is kewl. But I have no more open component inputs on my AMP. I had to unhook my xbox to troubleshoot.
So basically, 4.0 killed my HDMI port for HD due to something. Most likely HDCP.
Now to do some reading next week on how to rollback the firmware.(if possible) I skipped 3.0. Went from 2.0 to 4.0. I'll try rolling back to 3.0 first. Have the CD but just never loaded it. If that doesn't work, then back to 2.0.
EDIT: And no it is not the HDMI port on my TV. I have a single input to TV coming from AMP. I get 1080i from that on everyday viewing from Dish Network VIP622 DVR feed into amp.
