Which prossessor has AES out????

Most I am aware of are D/A converters with volume controlled AES outs.

Looks like Meridian does or did have something that will work! Meridian's 861 processor did/does have a add in card, OD20 Card, which will give you "four AES/EBU outputs on XLR. Contains ultra-low- jitter master oscillators." Not sure if you can add two cards. The OD20 card isn't listed on the website, so not sure its still around.

Other then that, I will assume that it will be some sort of commercial/pro application for multi channel.

I think the TACT TCS also will output 5 channels of digital

Interesting...how did you come across the SM8s, and how do you like them?

TCS Mk 2 outputs 10 channels of digital (5 x AES/EBU)

TCS Mk 3 will output 12 channels of digital (6 x AES/EBU)

The TCS lets you control the volume digitally.
