LED backlighting with what wall colors?

I just have a 47 LCD that I am wall mounting and am thinking of painting the walls a slate-blue and adding LED back lighting. I'm trying to envision this in my head to determine if it will look good or not. Anybody have any thoughts it this will look of or not?

Not sure yet. I have to mount the TV first to see how much room I have to work with. The wall mount I ordered is an adjustable/tilt mount so I should have enough room to work with . I was thinking of just using rope light, but we'll see.

That's nice. What is the color of the adjacent wall?

only that one wall is red.. the adjacent matches the light coffee color of the walls to the left and right

Yeah, that's what I was referring to. So light coffee and what type of red is it?

Like the look of that red. My niche is already painted a red similar to that and the surrounding walls are tan (there's also other walls the same red throughout the house - kitchen, dining, etc.). I'm about to put a shelf above the TV and lights behind the TV might look really cool.

latntekky,

That link appears to only be for auto leds. How did you think to contact them and what did you say? Can you give me a ballpark of the cost? Is there an easy switch to turn them on or off?

Anyone else know of any other sources?

This will give you an idea of how that red niche ties in with the rest of the house:

The red is called "Brick Dust Red" (eggshell) i think i got it at home depot (or was it lowes?) id have to check the can.

i knew the owner of Street Source and he was kind enough to make me a kit that included 2 LEDs wired up with a wall wart.
there is no On/Off switch so the outlet behind the TV i made it X10 to control them.

I didnt end up paying for the unit, but figure it cant be more than 40$ or so for it.
I had told the owner this is something he should look into offering as a product and he said he'd look into it. Contact them and express interest, im sure they will accomodate you.

Maybe they can get a product line started for home use too.
