I finally got around to watching this and LOVED it! PQ and AQ were awesome! I really enjoyed the movie as it was my favorite of the year!

On a side note about the audio. I watched this movie twice in the theater at two different theaters and never noticed nor heard this much bass from the soundtrack at all! Now granted we are viewing this in our homes where the size in our mini theaters are probably not even 1/4 the size of a actual theater where we can hear more bass since its in a smaller area and more isolated.

Anyways, I don't like it! Even though I have two subs in my theater I am actually not a bass heavy person at all! I loved the soundtrack though and after a few tweaking here and there I finally got it to sound like I remember it in the theaters, or at least close.

Watched this the other night.......WOW! The audio quality was astounding, especially the bass. My room was rockin like never before! The first 15 minutes and last 15 minutes are demo material for sure.

When I watched the BD of this movie 2 or 3 weeks ago I had the audio connected to my receiver via optical cable, so I naturally used Bitstream. It sounded great.

froze a couple times, near 9 min and at 1:42. for the second one i had to unplug the bd player(sharp aquos). the disc was from netflix but was in great shape. also apparently i need to figure out what DRC is.

I just bought my first 720p projector (Planar PD7130), the first three movies I watched on it were all HD DVD's, Transformers, Harry Potter OOTP and King Kong. All three of those movies had me floored on how great they looked. Iron man was a HUGE disappointment, I am renting OOTP and The Hulk tonight to compare them with my HD DVD copies. Hopefully it's just Iron Man and not the player.

Considering there are identical codes floating around on both formats and the players only introduce incremental differences, I'm guessing Iron Man's visual look is what killed it. (Kinda drab color palette and a bit gray looking at times, which is exactly what it looked like in it's theatrical run...)

i looked around. But i could find out what the recall was for. I understand that blue disk one = updated version. What exactly is the problem with the old gray disk 1

It didn't play on certain players.. I think it was Sony standalones. Those discs never saw the light of day though.

wait, arent ppl talking about checking their diferent colour disks and upc codes? Why are they talking about this if these disks were never released

Not true, I have the original dual grey disc release, as some online stores sent them out early. It works perfecty fine on my PS3, hence I never bothered replacing it.

It worked on the PS3, but not Sony's regular players at the time.

copy and pasted, got redirected here:

hey guys. After seing iron man 2 i wanted to rewatch Iron man one. I actually had loaned it to a buddy so i gotta get it back. But i remember there was some issue with the audio. I cant seem to find the post on it now, so i'll just ask here.

What was the issue? I seem to recall soemthing was wrong with the PCM/True HD output. Suposedly it sounded better on regular bitstream output for some reason

was that the case? Did they ever fix it? Im just wondering if i have to change anything on my ps3 to watch it (i usually have it outputting pcm 7.1 to my 5.1 setup on my pioneer elite sc-05)

All you need to do is turn off the DRC (Dynamic Range Compression / Control) settings on your player or AVR from automatic / ON to OFF.
