The scene you are talking about is at the very beginning of the movie. You are confusing it with the flashback sequence as it catches up to present time.

Are you skipping the first chapter or something? The movie opens with the scene you're describing.

I just watched the film, and it's definitely all there, exactly as I remember it in theaters.

tbass2k, which version do you have? US or UK?
I've heard of other people having the same issue with the missing humvee scene.
the kid asks if he can take a pic with him and he says yeah i just dont want it on your myspace page, then dude throws up the peace sign, and rdj says no gang signs. no its okay...peace. if we had peace i'd be out of a job...

initially, for some reason i thought the scene was longer, like there was more banter..but no...it matches with the theatre flick

Now, if I'm using a PS3 and sending PCM via HDMI, the 605 won't trip, though, right? Since it's not seeing TrueHD, but simpl uncompressed PCM. Or, does that information get sent, too?

Thats how I had my setup with my Onkyo and the audio was fine. Only problem is that dumb BD-Live.

just poping in .. bd-live was a 20 minute download at approx 6pm Pacific time. i had to turn off the ps3. thought it was hung up after the first 15 mins. after restart another 5 mins of download and thats it.

are these bd live updates on Paramount servers? or Sonys? Cause im noticing a trend with anything hosted by sony. SLOW AS HE-DOUBLE-HOCKEY-STICKS!

OK, my bad, I'm the confused one here, I was just skipping around checking out scenes (gonna watch it this weekend with the wife and some friends who have never seen it) and I knew that scene was in the movie, the flashforward intro is what I'm thinking of and it was at the very beginning of the movie, not after the demonstration (when it actually happens). Sorry for confusing everyone, but I guess most of us are checking out individual scenes also (and waiting for the damn BDLive to load) or someone could've clarified this earlier...thanks Jedi2016.

You aren't the only one that notices this...I have a PS3 and 360 side by side (both wireless) and I have tested this by hooking the 360 up to a pc monitor while the PS3 stayed on my tv.....I started downloading the same demo at the same time on both...the 360 demo finished downloading a full 23 minutes faster than the PS3...not counting the painfully slow "installation" that Sony requires after downloading. Total time was closer to 30 minutes slower if you go from "start download" to "playing demo".

Having said that, my copy of IM should arrive from Amazon tomorrow and I can't wait!

Thanks!

Sorry was busy, and yet this thread has advanced so fast in the last 18 hours or so

The problem with chapter 11 is the bass is muddy and distant, the surround effect is minimum, for all the objects (planes and ironman) flying forward and backward in the sky, normally it is the exciting time for your surround and surround back speakers to show their presense, yet you don't feel it and everything seem to happen in front of you, not surrounding you.

i by passed the bd live download by accessing my ps3 bluray/dvd settings to confirm from allow, but I wanted to get the bd live download out of the way so I have been allowing my ps3 to download this and it has been over 3 hrs and still that blug ring of death.

Is this normal? This is just ridiculous.

I had the same issue. My Wireless internet light on the PS3 was not flickering so I rebooted the PS3. Problem fixed. I had a good connection and less than 5 minutes, I was playing Iron Man. I went ahead and download the trivia game which is neat I have to say. The download was FAST.

Maybe there were too many viewers online earlier trying to watch Iron Man.

I waited for an hour and tried again (while Fringe on Fox was showing), and it downloaded 12MB of BD Live contents, and the movie never hangs at loading anymore.

Picked up the Steelbook version of Iron Man on Blu-ray at Future Shop. The cover looks great.

Well here is how my day went for the Iron Man BD release today. I thought I had the best deal by getting the normal Iron Man BD off bestbuy.com and doing in store pick, which came out to exactly $28 bucks with tax included. So I started watching the movie and while I was waiting for the disc to load I was checking out some websites and found out Target had the Target exclusive only BD Iron man mask case version. I'm kind of disappointed that not many of the major sources for news blu-ray sites like www.blu-ray.com, www.highdefdigest.com, didnt know about or report this exclusive deal at Target. So I stopped watching Iron Man and at 9:15pm left my place and headed to my local Target which is 5 minutes away. Got there and all sold out of the BD Target exclusive version, in fact they only had the normal DVD and exclusive mask version for DVD left. So I left that target at 9:25pm and raced over to my next closest Target store which was about 10 miles away, got there and saw no BD Target exclusive versions left, but luckily I found a Target employee who had a bar code scanner and scanned the price tag and found out they had 1 last Target exclusive version left in the back stock room.So I got the Target exclusive BD version for $30.16 which is a $2 difference for the BD version I got at best buy, which I will be returning tommrow, where I will use the "the disc wont load for me" excuse even though I know better.

Here is the exclusive Target version if some people havent seen the pics:

I have a ps3.

And I downloaded that initial bd live download

Make sure that the full 12 MB has been downloaded. I had stopped and started several times and that seemed to have caused some problems. When I checked the BD data, my ps3 had only downloaded 6 MB even though it had stopped downloading on its own. When you are prompted to try again, just say yes (highlight white).

how do you see how much you have downloaded?

it is at the box above the disc option where it says BD data utility?

In my haste I just deleted it, then rebooted iron man and it just went to the movie no blue ring downloading..

How do I prompt to redownload?

There is no more iron man data at the bd data utility section

thanks

Watched it tonight with the fam -

1) This is identical to the theatrical release. Saw it twice in theaters, it is all here. Even the little bonus at the end of the credits.

2) Reference release - video is stellar, audio is breathtaking. When he comes out of the cave in Ironman Beta Release 1, the walls were resonating from all four 15" woofers of goodness. As good as XFormers and Beowulf.

3) Great. Freaking. Movie.

It's strange that with the BD data erased, that your ps3 does not automatically start the download process again.

However, on the screen where it says that you either do not have an internet connection or that your player is not BD Live capable, it should ask if you want to try again. Just make sure that yes is highlighted in white and not yellow.

Unlike everyone in the thread, I'm having problems with Disc 2; the one with the bonus features. Disc 1 loaded up fine (BD-Live Update took maybe four minutes), and after I finished the movie off I tried the second one. It goes through the Paramount "Hi-Def" intro, but then black screen. I'm using PowerDVD on a HTPC. I haven't read of anyone else having problems with disc two... probably a defect?

TRUE. I also mentioned a few pages back that I thought the BRD was exactly the way I remembered IM from the theater as well as the same way it is on the cam version we downloaded and still have here at work and welp, not wanting to disappoint anyone who's imagination may have run off a bit, but just got to work and watched the opening ambush scene again, and NO, those couple of minutes shown in the deleted scenes are NOT present in the cam version...the BR is spot on correct, no funny biz.

Maybe someday there will be a snappy DC where they inject that little part back in (tis pretty cool, they should), but for now, the BR is identical to the TR!

Does this occur with bitstreaming or LPCM output? Or both??

Iron Man disc one loaded fine this morning:

However, it's still not cooperating with my BD50 even after an online firmware upgrade. See:

I bought the target version of Iron Man. The disc loaded extremely (10 sec.) fast and it is the correct version. My only complaint is Disc 1 has some scratches and some fingerprint on it. Does anyone have a similar issue? Thx
post #838 of 1219
This BD is great! Loaded in no time on the BD30 as many have noted BTW.

Some have mixed emotions about content of movies but have gone ahead and purchased the BD because of great audio and video quality. If you have done that in the past and you are on the fence with this, run don't walk!

I usually wait till I get a good price to purchase a BD. This one is something I've wanted as soon as available so I made an exception. Thoroughly enjoyed it and well worth the price on release day! You bet I'll be watching this plenty of times it in the future!!!

My PS3 is ususally speedy on downloads. I max out my 50mbs FIOS connection with the PS3 while Xbox Live varys between 40mbs and 50mbs.

I hate tiles like this with the slip cover. Since the disc case doesn't have any info on it I need to keep the slip cover. Usually I throw the slip cover away since the slip cover is a waste of time for me.
